Okay so remember how I mentioned I was doing reality streams of reading may bird? I've decided That having guest narrators to help with character voicing would be nice to help spread more awareness of the series :3

I've already sent an announcement on reality for auditions but I know the fandom is more prominent here so if this intrigues any of you guys and if you're aware of reality's system please feel free to send a pm to me so I can save you a spot in the list for an audition stream I'm doing tomorrow at 9am pst

Small requirements for audition:

18+

Must have all three copies of book to read along either digital or physical

Must REALLY love the series because this isn't exactly a paying va job and more so a volunteer project for the love of the game if that's alright with everyone

I've been doing may's voice by myself so far but I am willing to give up the role to someone more qualified :3

I'm also in the middle of trying to set up a discord server for all confirmed volunteer va's to help with scheduling and planning or whatever else

may i humbly direct fans of beetlejuice and coraline to the Maybird book trilogy?

(Cover I knew and the 1st edition cover. Current covers got the kid glove treatment)

Plot from my memory:

Weird girl May Bird and her cat Somber Kitty (LOOK AT THAT THING) fall in a pond in her backyard and dies ends up in the afterlife. Trying to find her way back home, she travels the delightfully creepy and deeply imaganatibe Ever After. While hidding her alive status, she befriends Pumpkin, a French fighter pilot, and a young TB victim (looking for her mom). She also finds out she is named in the Book of the Dead as essential to the downfall of rising dictator of hell, the evil clown Bo Cleevil.

He has it out for her personally and sets the Boogeyman on her, who has the power to rend souls to NOTHING. Perfect for a kid's book!

Absolutley loved this series as a kid, it definatley doesnt shy away from life and death and everything that comes with it.

I would love to see the Coraline treatment when people are eager for something new and creepy.

My thoughts at 3 am:

Me: I should really get back to reading the Two Towers so I finish rereading LotR before I go back to college.

Also me, while sitting in the dark at 3 am: GUYS I SHOULD REREAD the May Bird TRILOGY BECAUSE WHY NOT!!!

I haven’t read those books in like 10 years (for reference, these books are for like 10 year olds... I’m twenty)

The May Bird book trilogy was, and still remains, my favorite book series. I will forever love these characters and the writing that inspired me all those years ago.
