The Ten Minute Limit!!||Maya Fey
Things weren’t going completely as planned.
No, they really weren’t. The monster he’d be chasing after, one he made sure was actually causing harm to innocents, found its way into a rather crowded building. Keisuke had transformed into X Rider not that long into his pursuit. He couldn’t reach his top foot speed, but he was alright with that. It was still faster than needed.
The speed, however, ended up not mattering all that much in that confined space. He had to keep from running into people as he tried fighting the creature, itself. People, wearing elaborate clothing of a variety of styles, kept getting in the way. He soon lost track of the thing.
The first order of business would be to try leading the creature outside the building when he found it. If he could use his Ridol Rope he could just drag the thing out, getting it away from the people. He ran through hundreds of scenarios to get things to go in his favor, most of them ending in some sort of loss he wanted to prevent.
As he worked through each option, attempting to keep up with the monster, who was being rather hard to keep track of in that crowd, and the people, it managed to gain some distance. Mostly though, it was the people who got in between them. He even saw the thing slip through a door in the building. Whether it was to another part of the place or outside of it, he wasn’t sure. The Rider wasn’t familiar with the layout of that part of the city, after all.
He was about to go after it when there was a crowd of people around him. There were people asking to take his photograph. Others complimented his costume. Keisuke was about to say it wasn’t a costume. That was his form, but he found it hard to catch a moment to say anything. He had to follow the creature. He had to make sure it wouldn’t harm anyone else.
The Rider ducked his head and then slipped away as best he could from the small crowd. As far as he could see, there wasn’t a good place to cancel his transformation, either. He clenched his fists at his side.
He didn’t want to walk in that place looking as he did. It was too crowded and his form was too conspicuous. Or, so he would have believed. With so many people dressed as they were, people might not believe there was something dangerous around them stalking through the crowd.
But, he did have to keep it up. He didn’t know when he’d finally catch up with it again, after all.
