Okay new ocs time
So basically there's Maya. They're a she/they genderfluid person who recently moved to LA from India after her parents got a divorce because their great-aunt lives there and runs a fairly successful boutique and her mom recently got a job there. They're a major troublemaker and acts tough but that actually hides her softer side because of their dad's abuse.
They watched THG with her dad when she was eight and hyperfixated on archery to the point of doing it for nine years and it's still one of their major special interests to this day. She immediately joined an archery club after moving and has been excelling. They've won many medals back in India and it's one of the few things she genuinely cares about and while she acts like they don't need validation from anyone but the second you tell her that you're proud of her she'll melt.
Daniel is the school's Golden Boy ™ who has an overbearing family who wants him to be perfect in everything or else. And he's under constant pressure from all sides to be friendly, but not too friendly, studious, but not too studious, and basically have no interests of his own that might make him unlikable. He doesn't think he has any worth aside from what he can give to people and feels like a failure for not grasping something immediately.
They're polar opposites and at first they don't get along with each other because Daniel thinks Maya is an annoying troublemaker and she thinks Daniel is a pretentious goody-two-shoes. But then they become friends and slowly fall in love, giving each other strength in unique ways
