Strawberry cookie was still in shock, they were alive... somehow...
Shadow milk cookie had definitely hit them, there was no way he missed, but something protected them. She had looked over at Wizard cookie, maybe he figured out an impromptu shield?
But he had seemed even more confused than she was. Gingerbrave, glanced over with a smile, "Oh wow! That sure was a close one, huh?" He laughed as Wizard cookie looked over at him and frantically shook his head, "That... wasn't me...?" he stated, Gingerbrave's face turned to confusion, "Huh...?"
Their confusion was interrupted by a very upset Shadow milk cookie, "What?! How?!" he hissed, the ex cookie of knowledge now filled with confusion and annoyance.
White lily quickly ran towards the trio, alongside Pure Vanilla, who both began to confront Shadow milk cookie, but Strawberry cookie was much more focused on the increasingly distressed expression on Wizard cookie's face.
"If... it wasn't you... then who?" Gingerbrave said confused, Wizard cookie looked at the ground, the trio almost entirely ignoring the fight beside them, "I... Pure vanilla and White lily couldn't have set one off in time..." he muttered, clearly thinking about something deeply.
"Wizard cookie?" Strawberry says concerned. "ARGH! It doesn't make any sense!" Wizard cookie harshly stated, causing Strawberry to jump a bit. "Maybe we're just lucky?" Gingerbrave suggested, "No." Wizard stated, "This isn't the first time we just so happened to make it out of something unscathed. Luck is one thing, but we're far past that point." he explained.
Strawberry cookie looked concerned, "But... if it's not luck, then how?" she muttered confused.
Wizard cookie went silent.
"Maybe we're just really durable?" Gingerbrave stated, "But if that were it... why would things miss, or just so happen to not work?" Wizard cookie stressed, "It's almost as if reality itself has been working to prevent us from being injured!" he almost yelled. Strawberry cookie stared, "That's... not possible is it?" she questioned.
"Not normally, no. But I've been thinking about something for a while..." Wizard cookie pauses as if thinking of what to say, "Isn't it sort of odd... that we've ended up on these journeys at all?"
"Uh... I don't think so, I mean we've just been helping cookies, right?" Gingerbrave says with an awkward smile, confused where Wizard cookie was going with this.
Wizard cookie shook his head, "What were the chances we ran into the cookies of darkness? From a single Cake hound, or founding the cookie kingdom... The fact we met Pure vanilla in the first place is extremely unlikely if you consider it." Wizard cookie pauses, "And what are the chances we survived the Witch in the first place? Or escaping the castle?"
"I... mean couldn't it just be coincidence?" Gingerbrave said with growing concern.
"Maybe, but don't you feel the tug towards this? Pulling us towards goal after goal..." Wizard cookie insisted.
Gingerbrave and Strawberry went silent at that.
"I think... somehow we already knew what to do" Wizard stated.
"Even if we don't remember it. I think we've been guided towards fixing things on purpose." He elaborated.
"Who would even... do that?" Strawberry cookie asked growing more confused.
Wizard cookie looked at the duo, "I think... the three of us already know the answer to that, don't we?"
Strawberry cookie froze at that, she knew, and yet she didn't. It was an odd feeling, like being reminded of something long ago. Gingerbrave also seemed to be thinking of something, "That... doesn't make sense though... I mean they... Why would they..."
The silence between the three was drowned out by the fighting going on near them.

"Are you three alright?" Pure vanilla had asked as the 5 cookies made their way back to the Silver Kingdom, Shadow milk had fled shortly after the confrontation much to the displeasure of White lily.
"Yep!" Gingerbrave chirped, "Shadow milk cookie didn't do too much damage!"
Pure vanilla looked at the trio concerned, "I'm glad... We... I had not expected it... I was concerned that the three of you would have been hurt... especially with the amount of power he had put into the attack..."
Gingerbrave looked back at Pure vanilla, "Well... it's a good thing it wasn't too bad then!"
The ancient nodded, "Indeed... although I wonder what happened...?"
The trio stiffened slightly at that, Wizard cookie coughed, "I suppose one of you must have set off a shield unknowingly." he stated with false assurance.
Pure vanilla grimaced, "I suppose..." After all, there wasn't much else explanation...
"Yep! Just lucky you were there!" Gingerbrave agreed, although somewhat half heartedly.
Strawberry cookie nodded as she quickly ran towards the older cookie with a soft smile under her hood. "Thank you, Pure vanilla." She stated with a smile.
Pure vanilla watched as the trio seemed to blame him for their miraculous survival, and as much as he wanted to trust his friends... something felt wrong to the hero of truth. An odd dread, perhaps? And yet nothing at all felt wrong... How... odd.
So did anyone else realize that Tony and Rhodey's nicknames for each other swapped the ends of their names. Rhodes calls Tony "Tones" and Tony calls Rhodes "Rhodey" so the ends are reversed.
