BATTLES IN FORMAL CLOTHES.

rolled-up sleeves of a dress shirt, a torn suit, and a loose tie around their neck while carrying a giant broadsword. the folds of a dress tied up for better movement and a sword hidden underneath. broken chandeliers and tables, maybe even a shattered stained-glass window.

and perhaps, before the battle begins, the two rivals (aka love interest) dance together...

bonus points if it's fantasy!

@thelioninmybed tagged me on this WIP meme, but...I have only had 3 WIPs for a couple years now and I’ve already posted stuff from both of them before, so I’m going to post this Gimilkhâd mess which is the least finished one :X 

I have no idea who has been tagged already besides the ppl in Lion’s post, so, if you’re in the mood, consider YOURSELF tagged, and tag me back on your meme post so I can read your WIP :)

After a short wait, the court was graced with their king’s presence. He took his seat: a sign that the musicians were allowed to resume their playing, and courtiers, their conversation. Yet no melody could hide the palpable change in the room. Unease descended on the attendants like thick smoke choking back their words, and the noisy chatter turned into whispers under the unrelenting royal gaze. It was as if everyone felt, in turns, compelled to steal a glance in its direction, only to quickly turn back in mortification, feeling as if the king was indeed watching. Such childish displays irked Gimilkhâd, especially when he forgot himself and fell into the same trap, stomach filled with shame and anger as he hastily turned back to his own cup.

 (It had always been like this, in a way. Ever since their mother's treachery(?) had been uncovered, Inziladûn had started to look at him with different eyes. Decades had since passed, but Gimilkhâd could see them quite clearly in his mind still: hurt at first, and then pleading; growing distant and colder with alarming speed. When they finally settled, it was into an intense stare that managed to be all things at once, and none of them, and was reserved for him and him alone.

 How Gimilkhâd hated it.)

 He was sick of the feeble lords of Anadûne with their superstitions, and of how well his brother knew how to play them. Inziladûn was no soldier, much less an adventurer, or even a scholar. He had a number of spies at his service and another of nobles in his pocket; ultimately, however, he ruled all of them with nothing but stern eyes and the sheer power of superstition. His authority was a trick, and Gimilkâd was the only one who could see through it.

ough, having a hard time deciding whether the elite four would be fought in a certain order or if the protag would be able to fight them in any order they want @_@

having them be fought in any order would be in line with how the protag can choose to fight the gym leaders, in some ways, but sequence of events aaaaa
