"Jeez it's probably just a raccoon in here ... Getting' up at 2 in the morning to go lookin' for some sorta alleyway monster, what the hell was I thinkin'?!"
"it could also be old man Jenkins dressing up as a monster to scare off real estate agents so he can keep his farm!"
"... I think mom and dad should limit how much Scooby Doo you watch, Lance"
"ah dammit :("
Maybelle flicks on her flashlight and peers down the alley
Golden yellow eyes peer back at them. Thats. Definitely not a racoon. With reddish pink skin, horn, messy pink hair, a cloth covering part of its face, and wearing what seems to be a hospital gown, its clear that whatever this is, isn't human. Upon being spotted it began to panic, trying to find a way past them and get away. It wasnt going back! It refused! It seemed to think they were from wherever it escaped from.
Maybelle smiled at the small little Pidgey that had just hatched under her care. It was the fifth hatcher this morning. She stood up and stifled a yawn. She had woken up early. Then again, she'd not gotten much rest in the first place. She wandered over to the yard where many of the Pokemon she had for adoption were playing, happy and carefree. She glanced out to the fields, watching machinery operate in the distance. That would be Chase, working the field like he promised he would. Or at least, for the next 15 minutes. She knew him to be precise. He said only 3 hours of work then he was leaving to go find people. 15 minutes was left on those 3 hours.
She sighed. Not that she would argue with him or try to push him to work longer. She would have to pick up field work soon. She smiled to her Flareon who seemed to pick up on her mood. "Now y'all go look after the eggs, okay?" she sent her Flareon off. Fire types were best with eggs, after all. She smiled softly as she watched the Flareon run off to join the other fire types she had with the eggs. It was then she heard someone enter the front building. Did someone see her adds? She hurried to the front to meet the visitor.
"H-Howdy!" she suddenly realized how silly she must sound, and her promise to herself to not greet people like she would if she was back in Kanto. "I-I mean.. Hello! How may I be of service?" she chose her vocabulary carefully, the certain southern accent still very pronounced and there, but at least she was trying to speak like a formal person would.
"Maybelle, stop your insistent...ugh!" A disgruntled green haired man pushed his way past his strawberry haired sister who stared after him looking confused and slightly hurt. Maybelle sighed, and looked to her other brother who was toting in a suitcase. He placed it down and fixed the white hat that sat atop his blond head. He raised an eyebrow to her and she sighed. "Gavin's not bein' of the nice variety." she spoke, a southern accent pronounced in her speech.
"He's been hankerin' to git his arse settled in ta git out there in the city life. Ain't gonna do well ta be worryin' over him. He'll be outta yer hair sooner than later, Belle." He slipped his hat off, letting it hang just off his back as he fixed the scarf around his neck. "I'm gonna get me a room, holler if ya need some help Belle." with that he was off, in the direction Gavin had gone in. Maybelle sighed and went to drag the suitcase he had abandoned across the floor with her.
"Get your own room CJ." Was what Gavin greeted his brother with when CJ appeared in the door the the room Gavin had chosen. The angry flush that appeared on CJ's face amused Gavin to no ends. "DAMNIT I TOLD YA IT'S CHASE. CHASE JACK IF YA FEEL YA GOTTA YA NO GOOD DOWN LOW DIRTY NASTY--" "Varmit. I know." Gavin cut Chase off, grinning widely. Chase gaped at him angrily from the doorway, and ended up stalking off down the hall to pick a new room. One that was 'varmit free'. Gavin chuckled, unpacking his items in the room he chose. Of course he chose the largest room. Being oldest, he had privilege. And if his family was going to force him to live here with his sibblings on a damn Ranch, he'd better be damn comfy.
Chase settled with what he saw as the second biggest room, albeit grumpily. He complained loudly and often in the next few hours over being stuck unfairly with the room he had. Maybelle kept her mouth shut, despite not really getting any of a pick. She was more happy with the fact they finally had their own place. And she even got to name it! Only because their father snapped at the boys bickering and allowed her to chose the name. Flareon Fluff Ranch. She of course named it that because of her very own Flareon whom she'd had since she was a little girl. That was the first Pokemon she ever hatched. She even had picked the egg she wanted to take care of. Her Eevee had chosen a fire stone when presented the choice, and Maybelle made sure her Flareon knew that it made a wonderful choice, and would have even if it hadn't chose fire.
Of course Maybelle had to set up the Ranch and get her two bickering siblings to help her put items away and make sure the land on the Ranch was good. They spent the afternoon out in the fields making sure everything was in order and receiving equipment their parents had sent out to them. Maybelle was at home with the little house off from the main one that was suited with it's own little fenced in yard that was absolutely perfect for breeding and raising Pokemon. She'd make sure that Chase tended to the land as much as he did to chasing his cowboy fantasies. Perhaps she'd even make him give out self defense lessons, he was damn good at hand to hand thanks to playing cowboy all his life.
Gavin on the other hand... She'd be lucky if she ever got a glimpse of him in the daylight after the next few days. Nightlife with the more brightly colored people who weren't in any way in tune with the country. He was born country, but his heart yearned for the city. Maybelle could understand and look a little past that fact. Chase never really could. probably because Gavin teased the ever loving bejesus out of him. Maybelle knew she'd have her hands full. She was always a soft spoken and kind hearted girl, and with two headstrong older brothers... Well. This was sure to be an adventure all it's own.
All she knew right now, as she watched the sun slip low down past the horizon, was that everything was moved in and set up. She had all her Pokemon ready, including new arrivals on the way. She smiled as she sat by her window, staring out as night slowly crept over their lovely new Ranch. Soon she'd be meeting people and giving out the new babies that were surely to arrive the next morning. She'd have Chase go out and find some new Pokemon for her to add into her breeding. But right just then, she was tired. She closed her window and walked over to her bed, flopping down on it with a smile. She patted it and her Flareon jumped up on it and proceeded to curl up by the pink haired girl. Maybelle pet the little Flareon gently before letting herself slip off to sleep. It was a big day, and tomorrow promised even more big things...
