i should probably point out that @mayflyofspace and i are pretty gross and i’m trying to stay low key but they make me very!! happy!! and generally incoherent!!
so if you could do without me just low key incoherently babbling about them i’ll start tagging relevant posts with ‘ifearnomayfly’ (sorry) and you’ll be spared our dash pda which i can promise there will be plenty of
yes to all ur text posts omg. it feels sometimes like the only way we're allowed to get away with gender nonconformity/nonbinaryness is if it's either all a joke and laced with irony, or if we pass 100% as cis.
If I may quote Kubrick (at least his movie scripts) - “It’s a huge shit sandwich and we’re all gonna have to take a bite.” (Full Metal Jacket)
mayflyofspace answered your question “Out of genuine curiosity, followers, what are your plans for the next...”
for the next year, move back in with my parents and work literally whatever job I can get to save money for further study, then get onto a phd program to start either september 2016 or 2017. then, like, more of the same for the foreseeable future. ;p
Nice nice! For a moment I was confused because I thought you already got into your phd program. You’d better let me know when you finish your phd because I need to more excuses to spoil you haha. Congrats on starting soon though!
also re: places to work - if you can be bothered going out that far, King's Manor library is quiet even at this time of year. plus it's old and quaint and you can pretend you're in oxford, and there's museum gardens if you want somewhere nice to eat lunch in.
That’s actually a really good suggestion. A big issue with finding places to work that aren’t the library is that I might need access to books. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it myself!
you're with laura, right? she is indeed bloody gr8 and I hope she gets the award.
Yeah! She’s done so much to help and support me that I would love to be able to help get her an award for her work as a tutor.
mayflyofspace said: ah wow that’s amazingly ahead of schedule! hope that means you get to have a bit of time off before term starts now :D
Fingers crossed! I’m actually astonished at how far ahead I am. I think it’s because I basically had all my arguments already in my draft chapter and just expanded that into a full dissertation because there was enough there. So I wasn’t having to do any more source analysis or creating a new argument and it has just been writing and editing this holiday.
blackboardmonitor said: well done! That’s so amazing that you’re done so early (I haven’t done anything before the day after the deadline all year)
Ah thank you! It’s not quite there yet, I want people to proof read it as i’m terrified of losing marks for something stupid like spelling mistakes. After this it’s straight into exam revision though.
