2021 art roundup
Highlights:
Drew a lot! Fanart, environment and anatomy studies, animals...
Did a few series: Mass Effect trilogy portraits, Fallout pinup guys, Fallout D&D AU, and probably others I've forgotten. I've always wanted to do RPG portraits and my skills are finally getting to the point where I can get what's in my head on paper.
Did several commissions, which is always a fun way to branch out and try something new. (And justify buying more brush sets.)
Had stuff retweeted by BioWare and Bethesda. 💪
Lowlights:
Posting to social media was even more exhausting than usual this year and I left a lot un-uploaded. My Instagram updates petered out in the middle of my Mass Effect portrait series. I started an ArtStation and... seriously, why does it take more time and energy to share stuff than to make it in the first place? Geez.
Goals for next year:
Work on facial expressions, musculature, color mixing...
Get a handle on hard vs. soft shadows.
Improve my line drawings.
Seek out some constructive criticism. (Maybe an online class?)
More studies! More different kinds of things, more people doing different things. More drawing from life, pandemic permitting.
Best wishes for a happy (or at least less crappy) 2022, everyone!
