Question; I know some of the characters have thrown around a few questions about the reader's original world, but I kinda figured there would be more intrigue/probing? Are they simply not very interested or are they purposefully not digging for information in that regard considering the elephant in the room being the reader did not willingly come to Tevyat? I would assume books and dvds would have gotten dragged along with all the furniture that got caught in the crossfire of the interdimensional kidnapping,
This is a long response to this question, so i'm putting it under a read more.
Tagged under SAGAU for its relevancy to the SAGAU!characters and the world around them for our Creator!Reader on this account, but do feel free to skip over if you're looking for proper a fic, you wont find it in this post. Not really spoilers for "Self-indulgence" but can be seen as since this talks about character and world building, or for nerds, talking Vahumana about Genshin.
There will be alot more intrigue as things start becoming real for all of them. The chapter to come out actually has Kaeya be the first to start asking some questions and probing things on a surface level. The Harbingers will be the main instigators and be the driving forces of understanding the Readers' original world since i am still operating this fic on the headcanons made from when I started Genshin then found the SAGAU genre. Pierro will be the head of that troupe when trying to figure out Reader and Earth but Columbina is planned to be the one to lay it all out plainly for all to see since her personality [as of Nod-Krais release] is the best suiting and relevant interms of the Heavenly Principles and Nibelungs relevancy. and Zhongli is hiding his status as an outlander, so him instigating anything of that nature in a public setting would prompt Reader countering him. I've not really written Reader to just roll over with the punches or to not dish back what they're being given verbally.
We will be seeing from the more 'stable' characters, resistance and investigation into Readers' background but right now, I do have the majority of the characters in their 'honeymoon' phase and acting [or are genuinely] ignorant to the current circumstances. Considering most of the accoladaes are normal citizens, government workers, students and even children its reasonable that theyre trying to connect with the fact that Reader is real, Reader is there for them and that the Reader is... not at all how they were led to believe, in a sense.
I have certain characters that are more set in their original faiths, and while they all collectively went "yes, of course, i'll treat you normally like we're equals" at the meeting in chapter 20 that was held near the end of the first Arc, They're lying to Reader and themselves. [My favourite part about writing using I/me/my perspective is unreliable narrator trope exactly for this purpose!]
They still have a long way to go before they can disconnect Reader from their godly interpretation. Which is why we're in Mondstadt first [not just because the game started us there]. Venti and his nation I would consider the most idealistic in seeing the Reader as an equal because of the implied traditions and cultural beliefs they hold in comparison to, like, Inazuma with its varying outlooks of Eternity. Dahlia, for example, knows about Venti and his identity and treats him as an equal when alone and not in public, but still upholds his core beliefs and position despite the clear disonance of God vs Person wheres Barbara, despite being told upfront by Dahlia and other high ranking individuals that Venti is Barbatos, denies it and states they must be lying or playing a harmless prank.
It's been a month [at most] in world - and the first week was kept quiet for the transition period because of Readers poor health where fanual contact was just those who first found them [Zhongli, Baizhu, Aether, Al-haitham, Nahida, etc.]. We have Reader keeping secrets and the Characters themselves keeping secrets in turn, and both have developed a parasocial relationship with the other from playing genshin and worshipping a false god, respectively, which sit at varying levels of intensity. They're getting there.
The introduction festival did help to some extent, but a few are still delusional in expectations. Reader hasnt been too open about sharing experiences because to the Reader, that was the norm', their average. It's like... if someone were to ask you, "Oh, what'd you do today?" The most common response would be vague "oh went to work, walked the dog, and had lunch." and usually, the asker would fill in the gaps with their pre-established assumptions of you. its easy to misconstru when their believed normal is different to your believed normal.
Movies and Books did fall through with everything the reader had. Some are water damaged bc. of the location, but all of its still being translated through the Akedemiya unit [Al-haitham and co.], but that unit is more focused on translating the pre-existing literature and slates that they have plastered across the nation since those are public records, everything Reader brings along would be registered into the librariesrestricted section or as forbidden knowledge since there is still a language barrier. Reader is only getting by because of the screen system in place. Al-haithams language key, even though he is the acting grand sage at the current moment, has to get vetted through the other sages and relevant government figures for it to be publicised and accepted... which would be fine if he didn't figure out the key through Readers' verbal language and him associating the written language to the Teyvatian script. They all have contracts made by the God of Contracts restricting what they can and can not share, Al-haitham would have to prove how he came to the conclusion that 'this' is what it says and saying it plainly would break that contract.

Yes, I know I've only posted 22 chapters. I write sporadically and just as much as I draw. I have many plans, just not all of them are fully written in the order of how they should be released.
And to a different question posed by someone else in DM's; The reason why im so upfront with all the plans and how im writing this fic is because of the uncertainty of life, I don't know if one day I'll wake up and not be able to see [again] and if it will come back so I'm very adamant about keeping things available for others since I'm now aware others see inspiration by this silly little world ive made and I want to invoke creativity than stunt it. There was a really old fic that had done this aswell because they were sick, and It moved me. so. yeah, I'm very vocal about positivity in fandom space and encouraging people to do things even if that thing has already been done before or seems cringe.

Unrelated to anything. I gotta say, Re-reading the fic you made [even unintentionally] after a few months is so nice and fulfilling especially when you have memory issues because it has allll the things you want to read about- all the Headcanons you think about, it follows the characterisation you have and if theres something you dont like or irks you [like that one mispelling of a name you never noticed until recently], you can always edit it or do a quick update.
All this to say. You should write that fic you've been dreaming about. that silly or dumb idea you've been tumbling around in that head of yours? you should put it in a bulletpoint list. If anything, scratch out a stick figure recreation of a scene, write down those song names you relate to characters. Even if you keep it private and to yourself, when that urge to see something you enjoy comes along, it's there for you to experience.
To summarise, I was looking for a fic to put on in the background as I play minecraft [I have a screen reader that narrates text miku style for me on my laptop] and I unintentionally clicked on my own and did not realise it until chapter 3 where i had to pause my game and focus on what was being said to me. anyways, thats it :]

But thank you for the compliment :] Having anyone like the accolades react to the knight would provoke an actual response... but a character who won't see things as it really is [Lawrence] and a character that everyone is brushing off so he doesn't have the confidence to speak up and be forthright? I've been writing a lot of snippets of Guizhong that I was going to keep to myself since they're very sporatic - but Suitor!Guizhong fit so well as a developmental experiment I was running for the pre-timeline in Self-indulgence. [So when the courts were made periodically when 'signs' of the Creator/Player was said to arrive and didn't, so far I've illuded to 4 seperate courts forming over the period where Teyvat was first created to Current timeline]
If not - I will still be doing it regardless. It will just stay in my master file and not release with the other stuff I've deemed that doesn't fit this timeline I've curated here.
