2019 Mazda MX-5 RF This car is FUN! The steering wheel feels good during the whole experience and the steering is very quick to respond. The steering is also extremely communicative with the driver. The engine is peppy and has good pick up for a 2.0L 4cylinder that’s naturally aspirated with no forced induction. I loved driving this car so much so that I really want to overlook all of its negatives. However, while the engine is good, when it comes to its sound- it’s less enjoyable, especially, the exhaust note. The main function of a car like this is pure driving. For most people, it has to accomplish a daily purpose which is where this car does not excel. First, this car is small and LOW. The car is so low that I literally have to do a crunch myself to get in. In fact, I looked like Mr. Incredible getting out of this car- at least that’s what my wife said. Second, to add to its small size is the head room. My hair was touching the roof while I was driving and I cut my hair with a size zero. So yeah, it’s tight. However, the one area that isn’t as small as I thought it would be was the trunk! The trunk was a lot bigger and you could definitely pack a small bag or suitcase in it for a weekend getaway or week away. The seats are comfortable, but snug. I’m 5’11” 200lbs and I wasn’t extremely comfortable during my drive. I still would overlook all of it because how fun this car was. If I could just drive twisty canyon roads all day and not have to exit the vehicle more than once I would buy this car immediately. However, if this was going to be your daily driver and you were going to use it for more than just driving I’d suggest you reconsider or at least be short enough that you don’t have to scrunch up to get in and out of the car. Lastly, give it a try! See if you like it. If you like it and can live with it you won’t be sorry. It’s a very fun driving experience. I’m Marc and this is a MarkyMarc711 review.
