Jhariah-heads, we GOTTA talk about this Reverse performance at the Vanguard. like, imperatively so. i cant be the only one, out of less than 200 people who have watched this, that isnt being balls-to-the-wall mental about this
Ik ive already made a post about this, but god. it makes me crazy. i need to ramble or else i'lll lose it
It's the fact that it's Reverse - (explained by the man himself as) a song representing those thoughts of "what if things couldve been different?" or maybe, What if things could've been better?. It's a song of begging to turn back, to change things; a song of regretting the life you have now, regretting the very person you've become. A song of silently waiting for entropy to claim you.
And the fact that it's Needed A Change of Pace right after - a song about breaking free from the chains of the past, dying and being reborn, about taking life back into your own hands with no regard for the tired, old threats that once shackled you still. A song of changing yourself so drastically nobody but yourself can recognize you. Of taking pride in the betrayal of the old, and of taking respnsibility & making things better yourself.
It feels so much like a before and an after; an evolution. Being so trapped inside yourself, you cannot fathom a life after what is destined for you. the thought kills you, it debilitates you. It breaks you. You tire of this. You want a life, you want your Own life, you want to leave everyone - everything - that dares doubt you, behind.
I could go on, but ive looked at these blue curtains long enough. im not okay. jhariah claire save me
