i don’t know how to write this so i’m just going to leave dot points from the night.
- sitting down at the tables (we had to seat ourselves with the most random bunch didn’t we?) and cracking open the bonbons, reading jokes and having a laugh. you started by leaving your joke on my wine glass (due to the condensation it stuck perfectly). for the rest of the night i peeled off my labels from my drink and stuck them to yours. nervous habit but we had a laugh every time i did it.
- during dinner, i was very anxious to eat in front of you and everyone. i scared myself out of eating and i felt sick to the stomach so i just told you i’m fussy and only will eat the potatoes. so you and her both gave me all your potatoes so i ate something.
- after dinner we snuck to the bar tables to watch the awards get handed out. the first award set was a bit dragged out so i started the ‘last clap’ game with her. you were obviously getting sick of us and tried to interrupt my clapping abilities. how though? you reached over my legs and grabbed one hand and held it so i couldn’t clap. so i just used your arm as my hand to continue. thanks for trying though…
- sitting around the table, i happened to bring up your nickname. you know, the one you love so much… so we were changing nicknames in our phones for eachother. yours ended up being asshat at one stage which i let you change later on… i think mine is smaller and younger? because i’m soooo much younger than you and shorter??
- as the night went on, we kept on buying more drinks. taking it in turns with shouting the rounds. at this stage it definitely was my turn to shout so you and i went up there together to pay and get the drinks. as we were paying we were mucking about with the nicknames on our phones. you said you were going to adjust yours and i quickly ran to see her to double check the drink order. as i came back my phone had made its way to your pocket so you can try and pay. i had my hand over the machine and the other was trying to get my phone from your pocket. which your hand was also in trying to fight me off.
- you raved on about the name i chose for my puppy. you were very proud of me and going on about how it’s such a good name that’s very thought out. it made me happy that you appreciated it so much.
- as you and i were discussing this night a couple days before hand, we both were saying how we would be left together as the not-social butterflies. i ended up going with her to greet some people which left you. you made your way to another table just chatting. during my conversation i turned around to check on you but you weren’t at our bar table. i scanned the room and found you and just as i did you must have just found me. we held eye contact for a bit before i broke away due to the conversation at the table. eventually we ended up leaving that table and went back to the bar table to dance. i watched you leave the room so i just sent you a message checking to see how you’re going, you were fine and came back to the room and sat with me. you sent me a message checking in which i didn’t open until later but i was fine. you kept me fine.
- you kept us safe. both of us girls had two drinks in hand and were going to go to the bathroom when you were coming back. you grabbed them off us and sat at the table watching our drinks and holding our table down.
- unfortunately our night had to come to an end so we all piled into the car to head home. i was seated in the middle. due to the amount i had, i was holding onto yours and her knee the whole trip home. you had your arm resting on the back of the chair behind me. i would chat away and move my hands around but they always came back to the support of you two. taking corners i would fall into either of you. you had your arm up so that was fun, falling into you like that.
- now looking back on the night, obviously i’m going to overanalyse everything and man i wish i did so much differently… but it is what it is and the night was still perfect. we took some nice photos together and videos. i now have them of you watching us sing and just smiling. i wish you joined in with us. i will forever have the selfies and the videos now which i’m grateful for.
- it is currently 2:58am and we are talking about the christmas party… apparently i went to run off and you grabbed me and took me back to the table? thank you. i just know you saved me from making a fool of myself.
