tbh i see that more as an awkward gift to your stepdad than anything else. like ‘well my dad promoted his boytoy and now i have to give him a present. um. i guess i’ll give him this massive helmet i can’t wear’

....although now that i’m thinking about it, the whole history of the dragon helm is just a WILD string of regifting between boyfriends so like. maybe fingon was getting in on the action.

like, azaghal gave it to his boyfriend maedhros, maedhros gave it to his other boyfriend fingon, and fingon gave it to his other boyfriend hador.... and out of ALL of those absolutely jacked, massive, swole warriors-- HADOR was the only one beefy enough to wear it??? hador the mortal??? we stan a buff king
