Sketch dump of Nelyafinwë
Still- couldn't get enough to draw his face and through the process, the scars patterns have changed since the first visualization, the facial features...
It gives me bit of an exasperation to look at the first and the latests, the differences of facial features quite stick out. I dunno about you viewer, but I see kind of entirely distinctive individuals in each XD
Ughh
Anyways, I think, this is the most of how I imagined him- rugged, bitter and detached Maitimo.
Bonus-
The very first sketch of him, made in late february this year
I can't believe it, but this is my stupid ass thought regarding Silmarillion:
You can say that in his final moments Maedhros was particularly well-done~
(Maitimo = Well-shaped One; well-done is a state of meat readiness)
Ah? Ahhh?~ :D
Maedhros in a dress is what everyone needs
Where did the idea that Nerdanel has red hair come from? Canonically, it's brown.
Like, I get why everyone thinks Maedhros has red hair with rhos meaning russet and refers to a fox's coat, though from all accounts it seems his hair was more of a red-brown. And Amrod was originally called Ambarussa with his brother, but he also only has red-brown hair. As far as I'm aware of, the only two canonically pure ginger Elves are Mahtan and Ambarussa.
(I ask cause I saw some Biblically accurate fanart of Nerdanel in Pinterest, and there was a comment that said Nerdanel has red hair, and being pedantic, I felt the need to correct it.)
hiii random sulove headcanon time today’s subject is maedhros maitimo nelyafinwë russandol feanorian!!! honestly I think following his rescue from his imprisonment under morgoth, maedhros very much developed a resource guarding-type behavior, especially with food, because i think it’s a given that he was most likely, and severely, deprived of that while hanging from a mountain [ponder emoji]
i imagine this led him to be extremely protective over his meals, even if amongst the company of his brothers. he would hunch over his plate to protect it, try to eat his food as quick as he could before anyone could hypothetically take it away from him, etc etc. And he probably had gone as far as eating by himself despite what it could say about his courtesy and etiquette as like. well. the head of the house of fëanor. he was too paranoid about getting starved again
aanddd honestly, as brothers, i would not be surprised if the feanorians had a habit of picking off each other’s plates, but they quickly learned that wasn’t really the memo anymore with maedhros as soon as maglor tried to innocently snatch something for his own plate and almost got his wrist broken
