Will we be able to side with the Fae and their queen?
Yes! Part of the fun in a CYOA is being able to make some really selfish and morally dubious decisions. (For other people. When I play, I feel bad for hurting characters’ feelings.)
The real question is whether the Fae even want MC on their side?
I just found the demo and I’m hooked already. I did have a sort of game mechanics question: is Alejandro the only character with flirt options so far, or was there some sort of toggle attached to the question about ex’s? I had picked the “Glad I don’t have exes like that” option just because I wasn’t thinking too much about my character’s romantic history (if any.) Does ace-coding an MC hide or disable flirt options in the future? Thanks!
Hi Anon, thanks for playing the demo and for the question!
Alejandro is not the only character with flirt option, but because he's the only character you meet prior to the exes question, his very first scene is the only scene where romantic options aren't impacted by MC's choices. (Since they haven't been set up yet.)
"I'm glad none of my exes were like that." is actually the toggle for bi MCs. Aromantic would be "I'm glad I don't have to deal with dating drama," and it would disable flirt options in the future.
For example, an MC who chooses to be attracted solely to women would have flirt options disabled with Teddy, and so on.

Just wanted to say again how much I love your game! The writing is really nice and smooth to read. Is it possible that, for an MC who studied music to really get a job in the prefered field over the course of the game? Also, how would the MCs react to hearing an incredible talented singer/musician? Like, they were aware MC has studied that, but they never heard that MC is that good.

Hm...MC will be able to start looking for opportunities outside of Chester over the course of the game (should they want to), and how ambitious and what they do with their ambition will have an impact on the game. But it’s not so much the focus of the story as it is something that hangs over the MC. So success over the course of the game? No. In their ending? It’s possible.
All of the ROs would be delighted and impressed to hear a musically talented MC perform for them.
Is it even possible to get Lawerence to like you or us he just one of those guys who dislikes his underlings?
Lawrence doesn’t dislike MC in particular. He treats all of his workers in the same flat, dismissive-but-professional manner and prefers to hold people at a distance. All things considered, he might be kinder to MC than to their coworkers. Lawrence’s opinion on MC will change depending on their actions throughout the game.

I’m so glad you liked my game enough to play it 8(!) times! That’s amazing.
I go back and forth on height selection. It’s not something I personally think about when playing through IF, and I’m worried that some people might think that the character customization is too much. (I’m hesitant to add more from a coding standpoint too.) However, I always feel like it might become necessary when describing scenes.
My answer is “I’m not sure yet, but probably not.” If anyone else has any opinions on height customization, please let me know!
love what we’ve got so far :3c would you say that being nice to the ROs will get them to like you? my mc is a sweetheart but i have an almost pathological need for every character possible to be friends with, but i know sometimes you’ve got to be sassy or rude for them to like you

I think someone playing with a kind MC would be able to befriend most (human) characters. I know for sure that none of the ROs would hate a sweet and caring MC. They might comment on how kind MC is, or maybe how naive MC is, but it most likely wouldn’t be disparaging.
The fae are a little more complicated. :)

That depends on what your definition of evil is. If you’re asking if it’s possible for your MC to be selfish, cruel, and anti-human, then yes. A manipulative MC can also drag down their RO and influence them towards self-serving actions, and still get a “happy” ending. (Happy for them, maybe not for anyone else.)
