#OCkissWeek2025 Day 4 — Reunion
My characters: Alexander and Josephine.
They're the parents of two main OCs of mine, Kit and Kitt'n. Both very loving and amazing and beautiful in so so many ways. All their best features pass down to their children. They are characters I deeply adore.
Alex and Josie will forever be the first to come to mind whenever I hear words like 'Reunion' honestly. Often, in the stories they are in, they spend too much of their lives apart. In modern AUs, it's because Alex is a soldier, and in the old-fashioned stories, it's because he's a sailor.
He spends most of his life over-seas, the type of man who was born to adventure, to experience and learn and share. Josie, by contrast, is a recluse. She hides away from the world after too many years being hurt by it - she's seen the worst of life and she doesn't want to see any more. Alex sees that about her, hell, it's one of the reasons he walked up to her! She was the loneliest looking girl he had ever laid eyes on, tragic in ways even he couldn't understand - he wanted to love her. He wanted to be the man to take care of her.
Initially, she was resistant to him. She'd lived most of her life by her own two hands, she didn't need any support. It didn't matter that she craved it, the safety and comfort and warmth. Why give in to something she knew would never stay?
Yet Alex stayed. For years, he came back to her, met her at the harbour. He always came back to her and she always felt, though the world had broken her, she would never break again in his arms.
And for Alex, who hadn't had a family or a home in many many years, Josie became that - became his guiding star, his true north. Finally, Alex knew where it was he wanted to go. His final adventure: Loving her.
Anyways, I really do adore these two endlessly 💖they've always instilled that one feeling in me - that longing and love for a home you never knew. I feel it every single time I come back to them, so giving them Day 4 is the only answer that makes any sense!
