This may be a depressing ask but since this work has depictions of dark themes, I think it may be good to explore more about MC's trauma.
Since MC was brutually tortured (possibly experimented as well) during their confinement, I imagine blades and knives aren't going to be their only trauma. I'm not a professional but seeing the way MC was potrayed in the story, it's high likely that MC didn't not only suffer by knives but other things as well. I can think of a few other examples: Darkness (due to them being locked up); being restrained; adults in general (since MC were being kidnapped and tortured by them) or needles (in case of being experimented though I don't know if needles are used in Wodces).
Personally, I don't think it's good for MC to have too many traumas at once since it would take you more work in exploring these options. If anything, I suppose MC's trauma will leave an impact in their life now or even in the future and possibly pose as a shortcoming to them in some situations: if MC is afraid of knives, their learning swordmanship will be less inefficient.
If possible, you can give more of trauma options to choose for MC but limit them to about 1 or 2 is probably enough. That's what I thought. Hope I didn't ramble too much.
Thank you for the thoughts!
I agree that too many options would be hard. You have listed some excellent options, darkness, restraints etc. Feels odd to call them excellent but I trust everyone understands what is meant :D And indeed, these I think could pose issues in the future.
Though adults in general might be too much, since that should have manifested already with Havard and Lexia. General distrust I would see more, or specific situations related to adults.
As for needles.... no comment at this time.
