Nope, she isn't. Jade will try to manipulate anyone to get her way, parents included. However, it's a bit more than that.

MC's mother has always babied Jade over MC, while MC's father just kind of goes along with it. Mainly because he doesn't want to fight with his wife, but also because both truly believe they make no difference between their children. Yet, they very much do.

While Jade is older than MC, Jade was raised being treated like the baby of the family. She can get away with more stuff and her parents will forgive her more easily. While MC can make a mistake, and still feel the effects/their parent's reaction to that mistake way after the fact.

I've also been thinking about mute MC... If the cast ever gets to see MC interact with their parents, and their parents subconsciously turning away so they can't see signs, not waiting for MC to finish signing, speaking over them. Not intentionally cruel but just... Too dismissive to give MC the basic respect of giving them space to talk. Watching the annoyed and exhausted slump of MC's shoulders when they give up trying.

You know, I don't think the Hound's parents would do that, as they aren't malicious, or dismissive of their child. If anything, MC's father was the one who learned sign and then had the patience to teach all his children to communicate with MC.

Rather, I think what was damaging to mute MC was their mother's lack of support, in that she didn't see her child as less capable, but she aknowledge at the same time that they sometime need help.

She expected MC, when facing an issue, to just solve it, without ever offering comfort, or support. Their father, while never putting pressure on MC, also did nothing but wait for them to do everything on their own.

But back to your scenario, that could happen in those details with Osia. Because Osia outright refused to learn sign, and considers MC's condition as a weakness and a disgrace. She turned away from them more than once, as well as taunting or sometimes even insulting them. Morien + the knights would probably go for her throat if the ever see this happen.

In general were MC’s parents more strict or laissez-faire whilst growing up? Like in terms of curfews, what they could wear, where they could go/with who, what age they were allowed to start dating/drink alcohol/go to parties, etc.

i'd say probably somewhere in the middle, leaning more towards chill.

public image is obvs a huge thing in their line of work, so they made sure to keep MC's and their sister's private life private.

they knew that if MC started drinking, a no-alcohol rule would probably do more harm than good, so instead their only demand was to keep that info out of media sights. so all socials had to be set to private (even if they did not drink). parties were allowed but only in the guest house & if they went to one, MC had to be home at a reasonable time

MC's private school had uniforms, so they didn't enforce any rules on their choice of clothes. and when it came to big events, galas and such, they had stylists for that. outside of all that, MC could pretty much wear & buy whatever they wanted.

since most kids in MC's school fell under the same 'wealthy family' bracket, there wasn't really anyone MC was forbidden from hanging out with.

LOL XD Nice that y'all got a clue - and it isn't wrong on the canon plot too: MC's mom loved dancing and would always drag MC's dad in. MC's dad was a bit awkward about it, but soon ended up cherishing every moment of it just because of MC's mom.

Percy and Anna met while the former was playing hooky with Erec. Percy was sixteen years old and had taken his little brother off Key's land. That was the day Erec got the scar Mc describes in the demo.

Ana witnessed the fight - in fact, she took part in it, trying to help the Trepassers disappear. She and Percy then took Erec back to the Manor. She couldn't get in at first, Gareth didn't trust her, but Lady Blanchefleur was curious, so when Percy started sneaking in again, she didn't say anything.

After several meetings, he sneaked her onto the Key lands with the support of Erec and Elaine, where they made sure she was a clairvoyant.

Percy found her and still finds her incredible, courageous, and stubborn, but also composed and sure of herself. And Ana was touched by Percy's devotion and love for his family, by the smile on his face as he helped her explore his world, by his shyness with her. It was love at first sight for Percy, but it took a little longer for Ana.

yes, of course!

MC doesn't have any siblings. they're an only child and their parents are named Orion (he/him) and Larya (she/her). Mc's parents are really set on them becoming a worthy heir to the throne. they want the dynasty to continue and the kingdom to prosper, but haven't really bothered to ask what MC wants. they do truly love you or so they think but their kingdom and their power always comes on the first place.

fun fact: Larya is older than Orion by 5 years! their relationship is the result of an arranged marriage and their dynamic is mostly friendly, rather than romantic (though they're still trying really hard to see each other that way).
