Helping People Help Bees

Honey bees and wild, native bees are now faced with a multitude of challenges that include a lack of flowers, pests, diseases and pesticides.

The Bee Squad was founded by Dr. Marla Spivak of the UMNBee Lab as a way to help bees face these challenges and get back on their own six feet.  Bee Squad programming focuses on how beekeepers and the public can keep bees healthy. Learn more about the MCAD Bees and find out how you can support bees by adopting bee friendly practices.

Honey Tasting with the UMN Bee Squad, 

Wednesday, April 15, 11am-1pm, MCAD Student Center, with the University of Minnesota Bee Squad & the MCAD Bee Club

Did you know that honey bees visit 2 million flowers to make 1 pound of honey?  Learn about and taste different types of honey with the UMN Bee Squad at their honey tasting table.  Stop by for a sweet reward!
