11. Link your three favorite fics right now
Oh uh uh putting me on the spot
The Psychology of a Broken A.I
An The Amazing Digital Circus fic I started reading by @/the-spam-specialist (she has a Tumblr too with the same name). Dunno if you watch the series but me liking psychology, and me liking this show and the main focus it has on the two characters, so far the first couple of chapters I have read I enjoy it.
George, Loser of Nottingham
Gee I wonder why this is one of my favorite fics currently. Almost as if the writer @smilingformoney made the fic for me cause I requested it crazyyyyy
Same goes for
Arrow
Its almost as if the writer for that @spectrestrings worte that fic cause I put in a request for a Sheriff of Nottingham fic hence why I enjoy it so much but nahhhh nah couldn't be
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Oh hell wayyy too many. Fics that I have nearly done, partially done, a paragraph of the concept, a mere thought in my head where I've already completed the fic but didn't write anything down.
People who follow the blog should know some current wips I have (staring at my "Rickmas2025", "Stable, Typical", and "Under the Desert Sky" fics), and some minor concepts I have mentioned for future fics. In terms of one that I think I have not really talked about, or one that I haven't talked about at all?
I think I seldom talked about an idea for a fic with the Sheriff of Nottingham, it being a reader fic but dunno if it's necessarily romantic? Either way, essentially its a thought I had that relates to him finding out about being Mortianna's son, that one off-hand comment on how he "for once" in his life wanted "something pure", and essentially have it be a fic with a one night stand but with a twist. Dunno if it would be a stand alone fic or what but I got a good amount of it written. Just gonna stay in the drafts for a while lol
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers
@smilingformoney, @spectrestrings and @muiitoloko (even though they've retired from fanfic writing I enjoy re-reading their fics)
58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc.)
I guess I never thought about it cause on one hand the writing process is so very tedious to the point where I almost hate it (but of course I would hate it more if I didn't write), and on the other hand I also feel that every part of the process is important and when something is important and I actually put in the amount of work that matches the importance of it, its fulfilling (? Did any of that make sense).
I guess if we are getting into the more "etc" parts, I absolutely love putting in lines (either dialog, actions, descriptions of just anything) that add to subtle characterizations. Being a firm hater of the idea that "the curtains are blue cause they are fucking blue", when I phrase something a certain way, or a put in a word, a description, a moment, nearly anything, I try to do it with a specific purpose. One of my favorite things to do whenever I read or watch something is to observe and notice those small details the artists put in. A moment where I go "Oh! I think I see what they did there!"
I do this a lot with my drawings, especially when its a highly detailed piece. And I've done this when I did acting classes in college. So, I just translate it to writing. Cause I want readers to read my work and then comment, "Hey! I noticed this detail you put!"
It shows that they are really reading what you are creating.
I guess another thing, more specifically related to the types of fics I write is getting creative when it comes to writing GN!Readers. In terms of how I can avoid assigning specific descriptions related to their appearance. Backstories are a bit trickier since some times I have been specific on a readers backstory but also, I think thats a good opportunity to explore characterizations. In terms of, "Because I've given the reader a specific trait/backstory, how might they react to this specific character/enviornment?". Which that can get interesting.
Yapped for a bit but willing to keep yapping if anyone else has questions
