It is amazing how time connects us, both literally and figuratively. I inherited this pocket watch from my father, after losing him in 2016. The 1912 Hamilton belonged to my grandfather, a person whom I never met (and was born in the 1800’s). Having been stored in my father’s jewelry box for decades, I was amazed to discover how pristine the movement looked, and even more surprised to see it run after more than half a century of inactivity. Some objects remind us how connected we are to family, heritage, and history—even those who came long before us. #FathersDay | by John Beck McConnico
