Influenster FrostyVoxBox

Hello! Wow I've really been slacking on this tumblr thing. I've been really busy with work and trying to balance my personal life, so it's been really exhausting. So I have here my review of everything I recieved in my FrostyVoxBox from Influenster that I recieved back in December (yup I'm late). Below is everything I received:

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Decaf Green Tea - To be honest, I am not a tea drinker unless it's iced. However, I did decide to give this tea a try. I was surprised to see two tea bags in the pouch, so I gave the other tea bag to my dad, how absolutely loves to drink tea (I'm saying tea a lot!). Even though I was not a fan of the taste; which had a very strong peppermint flavor, my dad seemed to really enjoy it. I would go with my dad's opinion since he is the expert in tea.

No7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED Serum - As an estetician, I am always looking for great skincare products. This product claims to "reduce the appearance of fine lines for younger skin in just two weeks". And with any skincare product, it's hard to see a difference in your skin if you only use a product once; it needs to be used consistently for you to see results. While I've only used the serum once, I did notice that my skin felt so much smoother and more alive. 

McCormick Gourmet Thyme - I was laughing when i saw this in the VoxBox, as I really don't cook! Sad I know. So I gave this to my mom and she made pasta fagioli with it. As with all my mom's cooking, this soup came out tasting delicious. I'm not sure if it was all because of the thyme.

EcoTools Hair Brush - I love when round brushes have a mixture of boar brissles and plastic brissles; I feel like it helps with my curly hair for when I'm tryingto blow dry it straight. Using this brush was so simple, and it wasn't super heavy in my hand. I really didn't see a difference from my other round brush as far as how fast my hair dries and how it looked, but it is a cheaper alternative that does give good results.

Fruit Vines Bites - WOW JUST WOW!!! These things were so addicting. I love any candy that is cherry flavored, so I knew these would be up my alley. I know I'll be rephrasing these, but not too often as these are very sugary. 

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner - I was very surprised with the stay power and pigmentation of this eyeliner. They weren't lying when they said it's waterproof! It glides on the eyes so easily, and the color is so dark. 

Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - I was in need of a new makeup remover as I ran out of my other one, so I was happy to see this in my box. It was able to take off my regular makeup pretty easily, but I did need to use extra cotton squares. It was a challenge to get the waterproof eyeliner off, though!

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum - With prior experience to NYC lipstick, I didnot have high hopes for this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the pigentation and how beautiful the color looked on my lips. Sugar Plum comes off as a natural pink color with some shimmer. It also lasted for a pretty long time without fading.

#FrostyVoxBox review!!

It's sure to be a good season when you get an Influenster VoxBox in the mail! I was ecstatic to find out that I had been chosen to receive the Frosty VoxBox, filled with a plethora of amazing products to try out, all thanks to Influenster!

Since receiving the box last month, I've been able to test out each of the products and I'm here today to give you the scoop!

McCormick Gourmet: All Natural Thyme

I was very excited to discover that I had received Thyme in my box! A little back story about my family, we have this holiday tradition where we make a family recipe ever year. Passed down for generations, the Medcalf Family Crab Chowder is always a must! One of the ingredients in the chowder just happens to be Thyme, so this year when it was ready to cook, I pulled out this fav from my VoxBox! It was amazing! When I first opened the canister, the smell was divine. I knew it'd taste delicious in our chowder and I was right! I give it two thumbs up! If you're looking for the perfect spice, McCormick doesn't mess around!

RedVines: Fruit Vines Bites

Already a fan of Red Vines from being a 'Starkid' fan, I was presently surprised to find these bites in the box! They came in the strawberry flavor, which I love. They were perfect for snacking on during the many movie nights I had this holiday season. Great for any time and only 150 calories for 10 pieces. If you're looking for something sweet to snack on, search no farther than these Fruit Vines bites!

Celestial Seasonings: Candy Cane Lane Green Tea

I must admit that I'm not a fan of tea. Willing to give it a shot for testing purposes, I made it. My first impression: the peppermint aroma smelled pretty nice, especially around the holidays. Tasting it, it had a fresh, crisp taste. It was okay, but it's not good enough to turn me onto tea :P I wish I liked it because form what I've seen, tea is pretty healthy for you. 

Boots No7: Protect and Perfect Advanced Serum

Seeing this in the box, I was a little shocked. It advertised that it was for the first steps of aging. At 25, I doubted that I needed this product but again, I tried it for testing purposes. The sample was enough for one application and to my surprise, my skin DID look a little more radiant after just the one use! I may have to start investing in these products because even on a 25 year old, they worked. Starting age-prevention young....I love it!

N.Y.C.: Expert Last Lip Color

The color I was testing was called Sugar Plum and it was perfect! It was a warm burgundy color, almost reminding me of Pantone's color of the year: Marsala. Needless to say, I loved it! I wore it to a New Year's eve party and it lasted all night! It was a great look!

EcoTools: Sleek and Shine Hairbrush

It needs to be said that my natural hair is a frizzy mess of curly/wavy hair. At first glance, the brush is a bristle brush and I wasn't sure how it'd work with my hair type, regardless of the fact that it boasts 'works on all hair types!' I used it right out of the shower on wet hair, and when my hair dried, it was like magic. No more un-tamable frizz. Just my awesome natural curls and waves. I was shocked. If I had to pick a favorite item from the Frosty VoxBox, this would be it. I use it every day and I've tossed my old brush. I'm blown away by the ability of this brush to sleek and shine my hair! LOVE IT!

Rimmel London: Eye Makeup Remover & Scandaleyes Eyeliner

Probably my second favorite item in this box was the Scandaleyes eyeliner in Kohl Kajal. It's become a staple in my daily routine. I'm able to make it subtle for everyday looks and make it dramatic for special occasions. It goes on smooth and it stays on until you're ready to use the Rimmel makeup remover to get it off. The remover works like a charm with the waterproof liner and it's oil free so it doesn't leave my eyes greasy like other removers. Amazing combination!

I received a free sample of McCormick Gourmet Thyme as part of the Influenster Frosty VoxBox. As a vegetarian, I knew immediately that I was going to use this fragrant dried herb in a roasted vegetable dish. As I already had everything else in my pantry that was necessary for "Thyme and Garlic Roasted Potatoes" that is what I decided to make first. The dish is very simple: 4-5 medium potatoes washed and cubed, enough olive oil to lightly coat them (about 2 Tbsp), minced fresh garlic (I used about 5 cloves because I love garlic!), dried thyme (1.5 Tbsp was used in the pictures above), and sea salt to taste. Toss all ingredients together in a large bowl and then spread 1 layer thick on a baking sheet. Cook for 40-50 minutes in a 400F oven, turning potatoes after 30 minutes. I served these flavorful and filling potatoes with a large salad for dinner and I will use leftovers in a frittata for breakfast tomorrow. Thank you McCormick for the excellent thyme that really heightened the flavor of this dish.
