The McCoys formed in Union City, Indiana, with lead singer Rick Derringer. They had nine chart entries 1965-68. The first two made the top ten.
Fever was written and recorded by Little Willie John. Its chart debut was Jul 56 and it peaked at number 24. The most famous version is by Peggy Lee, who took it to number eight in 1958. Rita Coolidge also charted with it but missed the top 40 in 1973. Mudonna's 1993 remake was a number one hit on the disco chart but failed to chart pop.
