The Phoenix Drop Guard

Hiii! Drew the full armor sets of the first few guards of Phoenix Drop we meet! The sword hilts contain the color from which rank they graduated the O'khasis Guard Academy, it's woven into the leather hilt once they receive their weapon.

Gonna ramble under the cut hehe!

Garroth

Garroth is purple rank, on the waiting list for the Jury! Malik and Matilda at first were confused when such a high ranking guard came into town, but welcomed him nonetheless. His loadout of choice is a claymore which he somehow wields with a single hand, and a shield.

Zenix

Zenix never went to Guard Academy, so he was trained by Garroth. He's considered by technicality a red rank, to which his mentor wove the color into the hilt of his sword. He's the one with the lightest loadout, depending on a bow, and in case things get heated, a short sword (Garroth has no idea where he got it from).

Brian

Brian is a tricky one! He was sent to the O'khasis Guard Academy, and never came back the same. He claims to have gotten injured in a 'mission' under his mentor, Ivan. He has yet to reveal what's under his bandages. Due to his mentorship under a warlock, he's a jack of all trades, knowing how to wield practically anything, but his main combo is a sword and shield.

He graduated with an orange rank, but was meant to receive blue. I'll write more on him later.

Grey Wind

Honorary member of the Phoenix Drop Guard. He's a tracking dog, a pretty good one at that. The moon charm around his neck and the one Brian carries he uses to communicate with his loyal companion.

Dale

Dale graduated with a green rank, practically perfect as second in command as he was before retiring from his duties. He wasn't pleased to find out Brian graduated with orange, but never questioned him for it. He prefers to fight with only a sword, after all nothing beats the classics.

In terms of body mass/muscle it goes:

Garroth > Dale > Brian > Zenix

Really tried my best to draw their bodies how i imagine them but it didn't come out perfect.

Absolutely in love with the idea that Zane is secretly a cult leader, based around the Shadow Lord and all the concepts that come with his power.

The thing that brings people in, aside from average cult initiation, is the promise of immortality. The Jury of Nine are the chosen ones, destined to be the first to ascend into this rumored divine form alongside Zane, and from there, all who followed him in life will be rewarded in "death."

At least, that's what they believe. I wonder if Brian ever knew anything of this?

The Phoenix Drop Guard boys!

Garroth: knows way too much about poisoning and faking your death and a concerning number of ways to sacrifice your own life instead of let the enemy keep you captive

Laurance: knows a frankly concerning amount about the pirate life for the previous head guard and possible heir to Lordship of a village and a few too many information-gathering methods

Dante: would literally rather die than betray someone's trust but keeps a whole lot of secrets for someone so loyal and also becomes a hardcore survivalist the minute he steps out into the wild as though always expecting to need to live on the run

Dale: dude loves his wife and kids and wants to be an accountant to spend more time with them

Brian: asks a weird number of questions about things he never did before he came back from the academy and turned out to be an actual double agent for one of his village's greatest enemies

Wasn't Brian being the spy basically completely glossed over or am I remembering wrong? Is he EVER brought up again? Is it ever clear WHY he was the spy?

I vaguely remember someone saying something about him being an actual different person after going to guard school, like, they straight up replaced real Brian (aka Ryan) with bargain bin Brian (this is how Ive decided to interpret the name changes lol) and I can't remember if that was actual canon or just a theory

Minecraft diaries but Zenix is Garroth's adoptive son and Dale and Molly do a better job at being parents so Brian doesn't fall for any of Zane's manipulation. That's it.

I think it would be very funny if we got cuts to Zane trying to manipulate Brian and it is just not working. Zane underestimates how truly stubborn teenagers are and pays the price for it. Brian just comes up to Zenix and complains from time to time.

Brian: Your uncle weird asf.

Zenix who had to deal with Zane's antics first: Tell me about it! 🙄

Zenix still becomes a shadow knight but mostly for the cool powers, after he gets them he fucks off from the other shadow knights and doesn't say a thing about his new status to Garroth because he's a teenager with a bit of a hero complex thinking he can be some cool superhero.

Garroth: A shadow knight has been spotted lurking around the village creating fires, I want you to be on guard and be very careful.

Zenix who had been trying and failing to control his fire powers earlier: ....You got it Dad.

This is what my mind came up with after reminding myself that MCD exist and certain characters deserve better.
