I don't think Howard Schultz is actually involved with Starbucks anymore. Are you talking about a boycott of Starbucks for symbolic reasons?
I’m an idiot. Ironically, I haven’t had enough coffee to think clearly today.

I think I recognize the socks you’re wearing in the recliner picture with Mochi. Solmate socks, yes? They’re my very favoritest socks!
They are! I got weird huge heels and long toes and have a tendency to fucking destroy socks in about 6 months, and shoes in under a year. I’ve yet to find a pair of shoes that will fit around my arches without flopping around that I don’t also wear the heel/toe out of in eight months, socks fare even worse- Except for Soulmate Socks.
I’ve finally worn irrepariable holes into my first pair... 10 years after I got them.
Shiny Ponyta is at the very top of my DO WANT list. I saw one in a gym once and it actually took my breath away. My favorite shiny that I have is Gyarados, but I have an extreme longing for shiny Ponyta.
Shiny Ponyta is stunning for sure! I want one so bad -_- I would love a shiny magikarp too, I’ve been hoping for one since they were first released but they just constantly elude me.
My favourite shiny I have rn is probably Ho-Oh :3
Would it be feasible for you to (going forward) specify which perspective the book/quote is from? Some of them I know/recognize, but it's been a while since I read the series, and I don't always remember. I know I can google the book, and if it's extra work on your part, don't worry about it, but it'd be a nice little extra bit if it's easy.
Sure, that’s a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
I've got a character who enters the US from Australia for college, having lost his parents not too long before. Call him A. He befriends an American character (call her R) who, upon discovering that A has nowhere to go for xmas, invites him back to her family. He gets inducted into R's family, and at some point they'd like to adopt him, making it official, even though he's an adult. Is that complicated, and what might that process look like?
They can totally do that. Check the Adoption Master Post and Adoption tag for more information. Keep in mind that the information I’m providing is based on the Canadian (and specifically British Columbia) law, but once you have some idea you should be able to search around for the specifics of the procedure in the state R lives in, to the extent you need it for your story. That information is likely easily available online.
I know that tumblr USED TO allow you to just add "/page/1" to the end of a blog url and it would paginate it for your viewing. I don't know for sure that this is the case anymore, and to be perfectly honest, I don't feel like searching for an endless scrolling blog to test it out on, but I remember that I've done it in the past.
^ This. Thanks @mcdevinpants-friend!

I've got a character who adopts a dog who didn't make it through a training program, and based on reading your blog I think what I'm looking for is guide dog training. What are some reasons that a dog might not successfully finish guide dog training, but would still be a very good-natured, well-tempered and obedient dog by general pet standards?
A Guide Dog may not make it through initial (in-home) training (less than 18months-ish) or advanced (Guidework) training (18-24months-ish) for a variety of reasons.
A good number are “career changed” for minor medical conditions, even if they are surgically-correctible (like cataracts), food or environmental allergies (even if an alternative diet or lifestyle change would fix the problem), or any number of distractions (such as small dogs, large dogs, vehicles, children, skateboards, etc). Also, any fear or aggressive reactions will get a dog career changed, but those probably wouldn’t be appropriate for your story’s character if they are seeking a service dog (as a pet, many of these can be easily managed, especially after they’ve received remedial training on campus).
Less solid or visible, we also career change dogs for lack of confidence, high stress response to low-stress outings or experiences, or for not being “bomb proof,” which is kind of a catch-all phrase for resilience after a negative experience. For example, our five-month-old puppy had a cup of hot coffee dropped on her at Starbucks a few weeks ago and, understandably, freaked out. Within ten minutes, she was down and comfortable again and when we went back a week later she didn’t balk or resist.

I saw something the other day on your blog in which someone sent you an ask about Glenn Beck wanting to make amends or some such. I have a hard time reconciling this with the fact that he runs The Blaze. I feel like he just wants to improve his public image.
Yeah, fuck Glenn Beck.
