TIME HAD PASSED since their last encounter, and even now
would this technically be their first, for things had changed
from such a fateful battle. The King of Nightmares was no longer.
Such as title did not suit this new mind frame of the creature, now
reasonably accepting the simple term of Nightmare King instead.
Similar, but very much different as the creature of darkness was as
it had long ago crawled from the belly of the hole.
IT NO LONGER REMEMBERED, even though had the same
problem in its prior life, now barely remembered even more. Yet,
found answers in the strangest of places; none of which were
the answers one could hope to achieve for the Nightmare King’s
part. Would it have been better suited to allow it to remember or
simply let it continue to only forget?
DIFFERENCES had mad up its entire being from the previous
King of Nightmares; one, is the simplicity of its mind. Not as
cunning as before, but words twice as sweet to manipulate. No
ill-will thoughts but even more so dangerous than before.
SENSITIVE to the LIGHT, but HARDER to DEFEAT.
CONTRADICTIONS made up this new creature as it now lurked
the shadows with more slyness than any creeping crawler on
the planet. With spider like movements in a somewhat physical
form pulled itself onto the outside wall of a house, peering inside
to the deadly light of where a family took residence in.
IT STARED with only white small orbs and a black inky shape.
Nothing to define its body or face besides the supposed white
eyes. Silence overtook it as it watched the family continue on
with their personal affairs, and not knowing what hide beyond
the comfort of their walls.
It blinked. Then the white orbs emerged to the other side
of the head, gazing towards the golden creature without
any sign of familiarity.
“Salutations.... friend.”
