Heading down to Lichfield today for an intense few days of performance. 3 different programmes to include : Haydn String Quartet op 76 no 2 Dvorak "American" Quartet Barber String Quartet John Adams "Book of Alleged Dances" (excerpts) Steve Reich - Different Trains for string quartet and tape. Cuban music for string quintet Music by and with Chris Stout and Catriona McKay from their album "White Nights" New commission by Norwegian composer Henning Sommero w Chris and Catriona Music by Grieg w Chris and Catriona John Dowland - Lachrimae (excerpt) w Chris and Catriona And then we'll sit down for a nice cup of tea! Or a bottle of whisky...!

Eliza Carthy's new album

After a long but beautiful drive from Orkney to the East Neuk of Fife, we spent the day recording strings for Eliza Carthy's new album with Ben Seal. Ben has just built his own recording studio (in an old piggery)...paint is barely dry! It is absolutely stunning...and along with the fabulous music, made for a thoroughly enjoyable day!
