first up, good stuff. yay the entire team was in this episode. i love that. it’s hinting that we’re going to see them all back together rather soon, at least i hope so, and that’s the basis of the show. i do love team rwby, despite the ups and downs, and i want to see them get back at it together and reconnect. i enjoy the parallels and how they’ve all been growing on their own, but a reunion is what i’ve been waiting for.

but i swear to god. i swear to whatever exists that if sun dies in this season i’m...idk man. i want to threaten that i’ll stop watching the show but i felt the same after pyrrha died and here i am. 

but i realize that pyrrha dying was for a lot of reasons. not just for jaune’s growth like everyone wants to claim, but for ruby’s as well. ren and nora too, despite us not having seen their mourning process. they’ve all changed since, you can tell. but most importantly, her dying was for us. the audience. she was established as her own stand-alone character and shown as a relatable, but strong character. penny dying was to prove the most innocent of things could be taken. pyrrha dying proved to us that no one was safe. it made us finally realize this show was on a mission and not everyone was going to live to see the end of it. her dying made the audience as a whole feel something, good or bad, and that’s what any good writer wants their peers to feel when they take away a character they spent so much time and love on.

sun dying now would prove nothing? at least, not on the same scale. he’s had little to no screen time up until this season. little has been established about his character other than the surface traits. trust me, your girl has had to DIG and DIG over small nuances to establish my idea of him as a person, and not everyone does that. if he dies, it will be literally for no other reason than to further blake’s anguish and suffering, and thus propel her story into something more meaningful. 

sun will have literally only died for blake and as much as i love that angry cat girl (i really do), sun deserves better. as a whole, the fandom won’t feel his death nearly as personal as pyrrha’s, unless you’re like me and love him more than is healthy. he’ll have died and blake would be sad and that’s that.

let him recover. let him fight again, and let him die in the big battle of bad guys at the end of the season, if you want to kill him that badly. i don’t care, just don’t fucking kill him in such a footnote kind of way. please for the love of god don’t. 

i’m happy it wasn’t super trope-y, he dived in front of something to save her (it was obvious ilia wasn’t hurting blake because of a history between them, or something) or something like that, but this felt even more...idk. not worse but...throw-away like? she hit him so blake wouldn’t follow her. that’s p much it. he wasn’t even attacking her. it just felt so after-thought to me.

i could go on. i really could. but no one cares but me LMFAO. 

also, as i say in every post like this, i would never diss the crwby, they’re doing their best and as a whole i enjoy watching the eps every week. but i’m gonna relate how i feel, and this is how i feel lol.
