I’ve thought the same that she was talking about Kurt, but apparently the Kings confirned it was about Alicia. They keep ruining it for us I want to believe what I want, thank you very much.
Interesting -- well I still reject the notion, and would fight the Kings about it! Honestly, this makes less sense than the whole cheating debacle and shows they're out of touch with their own writing, if they really believe that Diane ever had any illusions about Alicia. "Saint Alicia" is very much a Thing in TGWland, but again no one who knew Alicia ever subscribed to it. It was a "brand" for public consumption. And Diane in particular has always been pragmatic about Alicia. Could it have hurt her personally that Alicia betrayed her? Possibly, but I doubt that THAT is what is haunting her, a year later. She might have even been surprised to realize what Alicia was capable of. But to a) have been surprised to learn she was not a saint, and b) to feel sad about it even now? I completely reject it and will go on interpreting the line as being about Kurt, haha. I admire the Kings for so many reasons but this is just silly!
