Immersive theater lays bare our need and longing for authentic human connection. NYC’s eclectic galaxy of immersive theater productions has entertained and moved millions of audience members. From intimate experiences built for one person to six-story buildings built for 400 guests, in candle-lit closets, reimagined historic buildings, and surreal fantasy landscapes sealed into old warehouses, immersive shows help us connect to our deeper truths. Today, however, the people who lovingly made these experiences a reality for us are struggling.

We can’t attend live immersive events right now, but we can support the cast, crew, and staff of immersive shows who are unsure when their next payday is coming, who are no longer receiving unemployment stimulus help, and who have no idea when NYC theaters will open their doors to flesh-and-bone audiences again. Hey McKittrick friends! Hope you're holding up throughout everything. As we all eagerly await the opportunity to safely return to our happy place, I wanted to see if anyone still in Tumblr land had the images of the floorplan of the McK. I was given them about 6 years ago, but over the course of moving computers and things, the files were lost. This is not for posting publicly, I'm just working on some fan art that would benefit from a more exact floor plan than my memory can produce. Thanks!

An unexpected 1:1

I was looping Speakeasy, as I tend to do. He disappeared into Agnes’ room, and i knew it would only be moments until he reappeared at the mortuary. As he made his way to the rep bar, I was the only white mask following. Speakeasy took his time resetting the space post rave. He wiped down the remains of Sexy’s watery demise with the utmost of care. Chairs and tables reset, his mistress beckoned and he brought her a locked meal. When Speakeasy snuck out the side entrance, I was still the only one in his thrall.

I knew he would be disappearing into Mr. Bargarran’s bathroom and shutting me out while I waited for him to emerge. But, instead, Speakeasy reached out his hand and pulled me into the room for a 1:1 I never had had before and have never had again. He opened his suitcase and laid it on the floor. Opening one of the shelves where Boy stores his clothes, a pile of wooden or rubber chips were presented. I helped Speakeasy transfer some of them into his suitcase while he also put a picture of Grace inside and told me a story about her. We left the room and his loop continued as usual. I was given his regular 1:1 and stuck around to win the shot game.
