Virtual MCM 45 today. It was ugly and hurt in unexpected ways and was so much slower than I had planned.
But we finished with no crowd support (Nick met us at mile 8 and we had snacks in the car at mile 18), I walked the entire last 8 miles with an IT band injury, and we both finished. I’ve never been so happy to be done with a race. Special shout-out to @littlebean-jellybean89 for being my cheerleader and letting me cry at her from 500 miles away when mile 15 was killing me. ❤️
I think this might be the end of marathons for me. I just can’t make it through a training cycle without a laundry list of injuries (post-tib tendinitis, possible stress fracture in my foot/ankle, IT band strain that makes it feel like my hip is grinding in its socket and I can’t bend my left knee at all) and I want to be able to keep running in my life. So. 🤷🏻♀️
But overall this is a hard but happy day! I am so so thrilled to be done.
