Currently thinking about how my emo phase basically perfectly evolved into Dark Academia, like I went from crying to MCR and Hawthorne Heights in all black clothing to crying over Shakespeare and The Goldfinch and Dead Poets Society in a turtleneck all within the span of 3 years. Going directly from writing edgy song lyrics to writing sad poetry. Dark Academia really is just "distinguished" past emo kids who evolved; I feel like a Stage 2 Pokémon now.
