ok just to make things clear – meg still doesn’t know everything about baron and his evil, evil things ( b/c ho boi would she be so pissed if she did ) 

but as i mentioned sometime ago, she’s very, very trusting to people who tolerate her, making her prone to be manipulated. so it makes it really easy for him to take advantage, not only for information, but for her to gain more dependence on him.

she finds him attractive, suave etc. but she’s still very uncertain. if he were to ever to somehow quell those doubts ( either by showing a lot of patience/initiative that he at least appears to care for her well-being ) she’d be latched onto him like a lost puppy.

     She’d been caught.  Her attempt to rescue Carmilla  from Baron’s grip had just blown up in her face.  Even  before she could raise a fighting stance, she was knocked  down to the ground and gripped in a stranglehold.  She  struggled for precious breath, clawing at his hands with her  fingertips in an attempt to get them off her throat.  

     “Ack...P...pl...” she muttered, finding speaking almost as  difficult as staying awake.  She could already feel her hands  growing numb.  “Le...t...me...g...o.”

What a horrible scene he’d stumble upon on his way home from work. A man bleeding out right there across the street. It didn’t take a medical degree to tell that the amount of blood loss that had surely already occurred according to the path behind him was taking it’s toll on the mans body. He’d been there before. He knew what to do. Stephen quickly took a look around the area to see if there was anyone else that would assist the man so he could get on with going home, getting some sleep, but of course he’d have no luck. Working so late at night meant the streets would be empty and quiet, just how he liked it. This was ruining what should have been a perfect night. How bothersome. The man would let out an exhausted sigh, his face giving way to a look of pure annoyance. He’d sling his backpack over both shoulders and gripped the straps tightly as he broke out into a slow jog across the street towards the injured man. it was only now that he’d even speak up, his voice sounding tired. How absolutely bothersome. ‘ Don’t worry, I’m here to help. ’

if there was one thing in the entirety of the world that nerissa understood, it was pain. emotional, physical, mental- she’d suffered it all it seemed, and the scars that it left upon her body and soul still hurt even after so long. perhaps she wasn’t one to speak of healing when she’d done so little of it herself. silence permeated the air before the electronic voice broke it once more. 

“people think that the best thing to do is promise that you will, but i find it cruel to promise such things- so i won’t. i won’t promise that you’ll ever fully overcome your pain or come to terms with it. i won’t promise that there will be a day where you can look back on whatever you went through and not be angry or sad or curse the gods, if there be any. the only advice i can give is to live. to take each day as it comes. sometimes... it’s the best we can do.”

rend. the name was familiar to her- he had ties to the kingdom's council, she’d heard her father and her sisters that were close to the council speak the name before. the bow was met with a curtsy of her own, practiced and refined over a lifetime to be as fluid and graceful as humanly possible before her scroll was once more typed into, electronic voice repeated the words aloud fr the man. 

“forgive me sir, i am nerissa amechania. my sisters scylla and ione work closely with the council.”

{ mcsmerisms } "Forvgive the lateness, my Nightingale," the finely scripted card reads, "--Or the fact that I couldn't present you these gifts in person. Business keeps me away. I only wish you a delightful Valentine's Day. Eternally Yours, D.R." Inside the box seems to be a perfume bottle shaped like a rose and a gold necklace with a small pair of wings as the pendant.

white cheeks are tinted rose as blue optics scan over the letter. the courier is awarded with brief access to the mouse pen before being sent away. 

she’d almost forgotten yesterday, && were it not for the letter sent, it would have been entirely missed without a second thought. to think simple words could sway the mind so. while confusion remains, why bother for someone like me ? there’s a giddy smile that remains almost obnoxiously plastered to her face.

the perfume is stored, kept for the next scheduled visit to the Baron, only a few days away. the pendant is hung around her neck, if only to see how it sits upon her collar. she wants to treasure it && the duties she performs would not allow for something so delicate to go unharmed, && is best left for other occasions.

the paper however, fine writing in dark ink, was worth much more than the two items combined. it is read again, scanning over a couple times, fingers not wanting to bend or crinkle it more than it had been from the folding, before being placed on her nightstand, likely to be glanced at more than a few times before sleeping.

the faunus falls onto her bed, vacant eyes at the ceiling, feeling oddly cold && empty. but she knows he’ll be back in time. she’s already planned of more than a few ways to thank him, some not as innocent as others.

The night began simply enough with Manos following an anonymous tip. Apparently it was reported a small group of White Fang members were having a meeting in a docking bay for airships. The subject they hinted at was targeting one of the wealth families who lived close by.

Though he didn’t hail from Mistral, Manos found better uses for his skills as a Huntsman there than he had expected. He did owe the people there for helping him complete his training after all.

With a few guardsmen armed with rifles behind him, he stepped into the hangar and eyed the various ships parked, signaling for them to move out.

A heavy metal plated boot would meet the dark wooden exterior of a door, causing a large split across it’s surface. Another swift kick would remove the knob and lock from it’s place on the wall, allowing the door to be swung open. A quick spray of shrapnel would fill the room as the woman entered into it with her trusty chainsaw- though the projectiles would meet nothing but an empty wall. A quick look around the area was all she needed before calling back out into the hallway. ❝ Clear!!! No signs of the target. ❞ It wasn’t often that Ceara got to work on high-profile targets, so when the opportunity had come about he’d practically leapt on it before it’d somehow vanish. She was never anyone’s first choice when it came to these types of operations, but when a miracle happened and everyone else was busy it was her time to shine. As she walked back towards the rest of the group she’d think back to the past few months and could hardly recall a time where she’d had this much fun. ❝ See? I didn’t use the chainsaw on the door. I can be sneaky if I have to be~. ❞
