The New Year Ghost’s Embrace Unity Gala

The New York Ghost’s biennial gala is upon us once again, the theme of the event this year is ‘Embrace Unity’. It will be a night to celebrate and embrace the differences we each have. Like each year the event will feature a keynote speaker, dinner, and silent auction. This year instead of auctioning off prized artifacts, and rare magical objects. Attendees will instead have the opportunity to bid on some of the wizarding communities most eligible singles. In order to keep things more interesting, as well on theme each auction slow shall be kept anonymous save for a few key components about the date you’ll be bidding on.

Invites to the gala have been personally mailed out by Ms. Wilkinson-Stone to New York Elite, press, and ministry officials, and as always a limited number of invites set aside for the general public to be obtained on a first come first served basis. The NYG Gala to date remains New York’s most prestigious event, in which guests are expected to dress to nines. In the past guests who have arrived dressed down have been turned away at the door.

The venue theme and other details as usual will be a surprise. We’ll be there to bring you all the exclusives.

OOC Information

The event will run from Saturday, June 2nd at 5:00 PM CST to Friday, June 8th at 11:59 PM CST. IN CHARACTER the event will be held on the evening of SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2018.

Characters are expected to dress to impress, in formal wear. Please tag character outfits as #NYGGala18.

For the duration of the event current threads should be paused to keep the dash dedicated to the event.

If you want your characters to be up for auction please send us a quick message. Each player is allowed to submit up two characters to be a part of the auction.

The Wizarding community has expressed their concerns over the current ruling to toughen the laws concerning the families of the American Non-Magic born wizards. In an attempt to quell public uneasiness many of MCUSA’s elected officials have decided to come together to talk about what it means and why it is important for wizarding kind. All citizens are encouraged to attend the town hall, and if you are unable to attend, you are encouraged to send owls with your thoughts. 

The New York Ghost will be giving the real unfiltered conversations between the public and our elected officials. They will have their top reporters covering the story and promise to report the facts. 

Because of the delicate situation, the Department for Magical Security and Department of Magical Law Enforcement are coming together to ensure that both our elected officials and the public are protected. 

To the players: 

We will be having this event all weekend long (March 16-18, 2018) & we will ask that the dash for these days be focused on this event (starters both open and closed are encouraged). 

We will be releasing Memes that are specific to this event so that is also an option. 

After this event, we will be having a plot drop that will be released on Monday, March 19, 2018. We will be canonizing all questions/responses posted on the NYC Ghost, and if you’d like something your character has done to be canon, please let us know before 8:00pm CST Monday, March 19, 2018. 

If your character works within the Department for Magical Security or Department for Magical Law Enforcement they will more than likely be on duty. 

As of right now, your character knows about the Townhall, so please feel free to post starters focused on the upcoming town hall or any of the issues at hand.

MCUSAHQ MINI EVENT KARAOKE NIGHT AT TAQUERIA MUCHO

This mini event will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2018, @ 8:30 PM CST via RPBETA! This event is optional, but is a fun way for all your character to interact in one spot! We will have a Karaoke Contest where characters who want to partake in the contest can show off their best vocal or lipsyncing skills! We will be having a vote for the public’s favorite (where ya’ll vote for your favorite) and the NYG’s favorite (which will be done randomly).

Hey Everyone! One part of MCUSAHQ's month-long Halloween celebration is going to be an anonymous auction to raise scholarship funds for The Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts (WADA). Any and all wixen are welcome to put themselves up for bid, and those who do will get special VIP treatment at our final Halloween event, which they will share with their date. The twist is that no one will know who's been voted on until that evening! 

More information about the final, week 4 event is soon to come, but in the meantime we'd like to explain exactly how the auction will work. As of today, June 11th, you can send the names and descriptions of participating characters to @fidelius-x, NOT the main blog. (The reason for this is so that only one admin will have the event info spoiled for them, and the others can participate like everyone else.) You can include any info you like in your description (without giving too much away!), but some ideas are your character's age, gender, sexual oriententation, appearance, likes, hobbies, etc. It should look something like this:

CHARACTER NAME (Remember, those who are bidding will not be able to see it!) I'm a female in my twenties who you've probably seen on social media! I love music, animals, and the outdoors, and my hobbies include gardening, travel, and drinking way too much coffee. I'm generally a positive person and I love to get to know people, so please don't be shy! (And forgive me if I talk too much.)

One week 3 of the event we'll post a list of everyone who has volunteered to be auctioned off, in a numbered list without their names. You'll have one week to bid, and then at our final Halloween event, we'll reveal everyone's mystery date! Please note that you're encouraged to participate, but it is by no means required. HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS: WEEK ONE

Despite the events of the Gala, things are still moving on. October is a month filled with Halloween Celebrations! Each district has something going on, and the first and last weeks of October have the biggest celebrations! 

WEEK ONE

This week takes place from October 1st - October 7th. This weekend we will have a dash event that takes place on October 7th (so all starters, closed threads, etc should refrain from taking place on this date).

- This week takes place from June 11th to June 17th. We will not be restricting the dash to only hold events from this time period ( in other words you are free to post non-event threads/items)

October 1st: 

- Mountlake Terrace District’s Annual Charity Date Auction begins! People are free to start signing up to be auctioned off.  - Last year’s Halloween Crown Recipient makes a speech in the Blackhallow District and marks the start of the celebrations.

October 2nd:

- Last day to enter into the Blackhallow district parade.

October 3rd:

- Last day to enter into the Old Tappan District’s Halloween Costume Contest taking place on October 14th. - Last day to enter into the Mountlake Terrace District’s Talent Contest taking place on October 22nd.

October 4th:

- 1/2 off all menu items at Taqueria Mucho if you come in costume + a Karaoke Contest.

October 5th:

- Street performers have a competition to see who is the best.

October 6th:

- The busiest day of Blackhallow - Last day to enter the Blackhallow Shop Decorating Contest taking place on October 13th.

October 7th:

 - Carnival in the Blackhallow District  - Parade in the Blackhallow District  - more information released on Friday, June 15th.
