Fluffy/smutty - kaitlyn x mc (requested by anon)
This is based at the beginning of book 1 of the freshman with a different take on how kaitlyn and mc (Emily/Milly) confessed their feelings.
I'll always want more p.1/2
Having woken up early, Emily was sat up on the roof of the suite. It was still hard to get use to sleeping in her bed here, but she had always had trouble sleeping away from home. It had been 5 days since welcome week ended and still, a full night of sleep seemed impossible. Most mornings she would resign herself to shuffle to the living room and watch cartoons, but not today.
Since her first night at hartfeld, Emily managed to bond instantly with her suite mates, but things still felt unsettled. Tyler and Abbie were easy to get along with, especially as they kept mostly to themselves and spent most of their time either trying to find an excuse to sit close together or avoid eachother completely. Zack had already proven himself as best friend material. The way he could make her laugh was a big help, and he always had time to sit and listen to whatever was on her mind. Most nights she would find herself talking his ear off about the conflicted feelings that were already circling her and their 4 new friends.
On the first night they all had together, a game of 'Truth or Truth' had allowed them all to get to know each other better instantly. That's also where the problems started that were now keeping her up on the roof instead of downstairs on the much warmer couch. Chris, he struck her as a typical all American guy. Heart of gold, dirty blonde hair and the winning smile, it all fit his aesthetic so well. He had let slip that he was a romantic and made no effort to hide the fact that he wanted Emily to know it too. As their first night came to a close, chris found the courage to make the slightest move to gauge Emily's interest. He was sweet and handsome, and after a few glasses of wine and the excitement of a new start here, it was almost enough to draw her to him. Almost but not quite. Since then, they had found themselves alone together a few times. They were both early risers, which meant they had only eachother for company each morning. It was nice, his college experience was already so different to hers and it gave them a lot to talk about. He told her about his sister and mom, his part time work at the lobster shack and about his friends back in cherryfield.
As much as these talks were fun, it bothered Emily that he still flirted. She hadn't said a definitive 'No' to it, it didn't seem necessary as it was just flirting. Guys flirting with her was easy enough to handle. It wasn't the fact that he was persistent that bothered her really, it was more that it was all coming from the wrong person.
--
Emily felt a chill creep over her shoulders as a strong breeze swept across hartfeld. Closing her textbook that she had been half focused on and collecting the 20 highlighters she had brought up with her, she walked back to the stairs leading down from the roof. As she got to the kitchen, she glanced across to the living room couch where chris was sprawled out, still looking a little sleepy as he watched the tv.
"Chris..." she called over, shaking the nearly empty coffee pot. "...want some?" Chris lept up from the couch and took a seat at the kitchen island across from her.
"Yes, please." He grinned
"Why am I always the one who makes the coffee?" She looked around the suite, seeing that no one else was up yet. "Especially as I'm guessing you drank what was already in here from yesterday"
Chris rubbed the back of his neck and gave a small laugh under his breath. "Maybe... because I have no idea how to work the coffee maker?" At that, Emily raised her eyebrows at him. "...What?! My mom always had it set up before I was awake. I never had to learn."
"Well I'm not your mom..." Emily said in a deadpan sort of voice before laughing with him.
"Yeah... you make better coffee"
"Fine. I'll make it... again." She laughed. "Any plans today?"
"I have one class and I promised some of the guys from the team I'd meet them in the gym."
"Then you're going to need this" Emily pushed a hot cup of strong coffee toward him. As chris took the cup, his finger brushed just over her knuckle, leaving a slight, but noticeable blush on his cheeks.
"How about you? Any plans?"
"Just studying. I'd go and hang out with my friends too but id lose my position as hartfeld's newest recluse."
"Nothing wrong with enjoying your own company. You know, as you're not busy or anything..." his words were hopeful and his voice caught just a little in his throat as he spoke. "I was wondering if..."
"Is that for me?" A voice spoke up from just behind Emily, startling her enough to make her almost knock over the cup that was cradled in her hands. As she turned around, she saw kaitlyn stood just inches from her, a wide smile lighting up the soft features of her face.
"Oh.. hi kaitlyn. I... its mine but, you can have it if you want.." Emily could feel the heat rise in her face. The coffee would have seemed cold in comparison.
"Maybe just a sip..." kaitlyn giggled before taking the cup from Emily's hand.
"I can make you your own of you like..."
"Relax, I don't have cooties..." kaitlyn said with a grin as she raised the cups to her lips. "Damn that's good. It sure explains why you're always up so early chris. I wouldn't want to miss out in her coffee either."
"Uhmm, yeah..." he laughed nervously. "...I'm going to.. go get a shower. Thanks for the coffee Milly."
"No problem." She said as he walked slowly towards the bathroom. Emily gestured towards the couch where the two of them sat on oposit ends. Kaitlyn leaned back against the arms rest and kicked her feet up so they were just barely resting against Emily's thigh.
"Why do you always get up so early?" Kaitlyn asked, nudging Emily slightly with her heel.
"I always have. But... being away from home, I guess I miss my bed."
"Yeah, I'm the same. I have trouble getting to sleep though."
"I'm not surprised, I can actually hear your speakers playing when I'm up on the roof. How could anyone sleep through that?"
"Hey now... I've never been able to sleep without hearing punk girls in my room. I guess it's all just a part of my ultimate fantasy."
Emily nearly choked on her coffee at that.
"Don't you mean ultimate 'fancy'?" She giggled, trying to recover from her blush.
"Haha, Zack is such a dork..." kaitlyn laughed. A silence hung between them for a few minutes, just the sound of the tv I'm the background filling the room. Emily finished most of her coffee and handed the last few sips to kaitlyn who took it with a smile. "Well I better get dressed. I've got a meeting with one of my professors and she a total hard ass on punctuality. Buuut... she has got a great ass so I better dress to impress if I'm going to try and... convince her to give me a good grade" Kaitlyn winked before standing up and stretching her back.
Emily's eyes locked on to her. The way her muscles tensed as she stretched almost left her mouth gaping. "You're joking about that right?"
"Oh yeah. I never use my looks to get my own way. I've got enough charm to get it anyway." With that, kaitlyn walked back to her room, setting the coffee cup on the counter as she passed it. "Thanks for the drink milly."
Emily eyes never left her as she walked out of the room. Kaitlyn was a lot of fun. She had been the first of her new friends she had really introduced herself to, and they bonded almost instantly. After they both decided to don their bikinis and go to welcome week together, the attraction that Emily felt was undeniable. The only problem was, kaitlyn was a flirt. She loved showing off her confidence and could easily back it up. Emily had noticed kaitlyn flirting with her a few times now, but it always felt hollow. Like she could flirt that way with anyone and maybe she was just good practice.
--
Weeks passed and college had proven to be all Emily had hoped for and more. Even with the harder classes, the massive crowds of people where ever you turned and the fact that sleeping still wasn't any easier, Emily was feeling more and more settled. It was the night of their first party in their suite which meant a lot of work had to be done. Abbie supervised chris putting up decorations while Zack and Tyler laid out the snacks. Emily had just gotten home from a meeting with professor Vasquez. Abbie turned to her with a smile.
"Hey, how did it go with Vasquez?"
"Not great..." she sighed. "...I don't know of he's actually trying to systematically destroy my life or if it's just an added perk for him."
"Ouch. Couldn't you talk to him? Maybe ask him to lay off of you a little"
"Spoken like someone who's never met him" Emily grinned. "So what is there left to do?"
"Well..." Abbie surveyed the room. "...I guess you could..." before she finished her sentence, kaitlyn's voice carried from the hall.
"Is that Milly?! Come here I need you for something!"
Emily looked back to Abbie who gave her a weak shrug. "Go ahead, we're on top of things out here"
"Thanks. I promise I'll help when I'm done with kaitlyn."
Abbie rolled her eyes playfully and smiled back. "Take your time...."
Emily was taken aback by the teasing tone of Abbie's voice but brushed it off. Giving a slight knock on kaitlyn's bedroom door, she pushed it open and her heart leapt. In front of the full length mirror, kaitlyn was stood in a matching set of red lace underwear. Emily's eyes travelled upwards, taking in every inch of her striking body. Though kaitlyn was facing away, Emily met her eyes in the mirror.
"Oh... Sorry kaitlyn... I'll..." she stuttered. Kaitlyn turned to face her and giggled under her breath.
"Its fine, but you need to help me decide what to wear. Its our first party here so it definitely matters." Emily looked over at kaitlyn's bed which was awash with beautiful dresses and a few items of denim. Kaitlyn picked up the jean jacket and a black low cut top, holding them against herself. "How about this?"
"I don't know, maybe too casual?" Emily mumbled, trying not to stare at the still half naked girl in front of her. Kaitlyn turned her back to Emily and looked over her shoulder.
"Is that because I'm not wearing pants? Is 'No pants' too casual?"
Emily's face was burning with her blush. Desperately trying not to draw attention to it, she turned back to the dresses. "How about this?" She asked as she held up a long white dress with black laced patterns running down it.
"Oh I love that one. Good eye, Milly." Kaitlyn took the dress and stepped in to it, pulling it up over her curves and pulling the zipper half way up at the back. "Little help?"
"Oh right, sorry." Emily stammered as she pulled the zip up the rest of the way.
"While you're here... do you think you could help me put my hair up?" Kaitlyn asked with a small but adorable pout.
"Sure..." Emily laughed. "...how do you want it done?" Kaitlyn picked up her phone and scrolled through her pictures until she stopped at one with a beautiful and intricate hair style.
"Think you can do that?"
"Yeah for real. I use to practice doing my moms hair when she was dating."
"And how did that work out?"
Emily started working on the long dark hair that draped over kaitlyn's shoulders. "She's been married to my stepdad for a good few years so I doubt she would complain." They kept up the conversation as Emily styled kaitlyn's hair. Every couple of minutes, she found herself distracted by the smell of kaitlyn's perfume, the way her soft hair felt in Emily's hands and the gentle brushing of her fingers on the back of kaitlyn's neck. At one point she was sure she noticed kaitlyn shiver under her touch, which made her stomach flip. As she put in the last pin to hold the style in place, Emily stepped back while kaitlyn checked it in her mirror.
"Wow. It looks better than I hoped it would. You've got skilled hands milly!"
"Yeah so I've heard" Emily laughed, tucking her thumbs in to the belt loops of her jeans.
"You know you only do that when you're nervous?" Kaitlyn grinned wickedly at her.
"Do what?"
"That" she said, pointing to where Emily's hands were resting just away from her hips. "Why are you so nervous?"
"I... I don't...."
"Yeah, you do. You did it when you walked in on our first day. You did it when you went for your first meeting with Vasquez. You even do it at the café when you're trying to remember everyone's order." Kaitlyn took at step towards her, pulling her hands from her waist and not letting go of them as she spoke. "So why are you so nervous?"
Emily glanced down at her hands, the way they fit in to kaitlyn's was perfect. Like every other hand that had ever held them had been wrong in every way. "I don't know... Why do you pay so much attention to what my hands are doing?"
Kaitlyn choked on the air in her lungs and her face glowed with heat. As she tried to pull her hands back, Emily held them tighter.
"Kait... I think we really need to talk."
"I..." Kaitlyn's eyes avoided Emily's as she tried to find her words. Emily's grip was steady but soft, just enough to keep her hands from slipping away. "...you should get ready for the party." Kaityn said, almost mumbling each syllable.
"Oh..." Emily let her grip loosen and pulled her hands back. "Yeah, I guess so." As she left the room she wanted to look back to read the expression on kaitlyn's face, if there even was one. Using all of her determination, she managed to close the door behind her without a last glance.
As she walked across the hall to her room she noticed her thumbs already hooked in to the belt loops of her jeans. With a sigh she pulled them back and stuffed her hands into her pockets. When she opened her door, she gave a look over to her friends still setting up the party. As much as she wanted to help, the empty hole that had appeared in her gut made her need to shy away. Before she could look away from them, her eyes locked with Zack's who gave her a questioning tilt of his head. With a somewhat practiced smile, she looked away and crossed the threshold of her room, gently closing the door. She sat on her bed and tried to calm her breathing. Nerves were now taking over her. The thoughts of what just happened were circling her head; was the friendship with kaitlyn ruined? Does this mean that all the time kaitlyn had flirted with her was meaningless? The embarrassment was like a crushing weight on her.
A knock on her door woke her from her thoughts. Wiping away the mist in her eyes and taking a deep breath, she stood and opened the door. Zack stood there with a thousand watt smile.
"Zack? What's up?"
Wordlessly, Zack held her shoulders, guiding her back in to her room. Kicking the door closed behind him, he sat Emily on the bed and crashed down next to her.
"What happened?"
"What do you mean? Nothing ha..."
"Seriously?! Don't bother trying that with me. We've all just spent the last 20 minutes arguing about whether or not today would be the day you and Kaitlyn actually get together."
"What?" Emily snapped, trying to hold back the embarrassment that she felt rising in her chest.
"Yeah, If it's today, then Tyler owes me 30 bucks." Zack winked.
"First of all, it's creepy to gamble on my love life. And second, you're going to owe Tyler."
"No way! You guys are perfect for eachother! It's not even just about the money at this point."
"Yeah... I thought so too."
Emily explained what had happened in as much detail as she could, trying her best to stop her voice from breaking at the thought of the rejection.
"Hey..." Zack said softly, putting his arm over Emily's shoulders. "...Maybe she's just scared. Kaitlyn flirts because it guards her from getting hurt. If she's scared to talk it through with you, maybe it's because it actually means something." At that Emily sighed.
"Why do these things sound so simple until you actually try to do something about it?"
"Well, look at it this way; We're about to throw an amazing party, so you're going to get your chance for sure. And if for some impossible reason it doesn't work out, then just find me and I'll spend however long it takes to make you feel better."
"Aw Zack, thank you" Emily wrapped her arms around Zack, pulling him in to a binding hug. "You must really want that $30."
"I really do." Zack laughed. "I can't go flirt with my favourite barista without money to actually buy something. But right now, we'd better get you looking stunning for the party."
To be concluded
MC: Kaitlyn has a problem with public display of affection. I remember once at a New Year’s Eve party, stroke of midnight, she high-fived me.
MC: Two problems with that: One, gays don’t high five.
MC: Two, gays don’t high five.

Request 62
Kaitlyn x MC
As per request :)
Slightly mature, lots of fluff
You lie awake in bed. It feels like hours since you first laid down. You glance at your phone. 2:06 AM.
Maybe I just don’t want to sleep.
A light flashes from outside, filling your room with what almost feels like daylight for a quarter second. A thunderous boom soon follows.
Or maybe the clouds just won’t let me.
You chuckle
“God’s will..” you muse to yourself.
A knock sounds from the wall, near your headboard. You yank your blanket over your head, willing yourself to be invisible.
“*MC? Is that you?” You exhale loudly.
After you and your friends decided the shower was off-limits for eating (aside from on the most special occasions, of course) Kaitlyn restricted her irregular eating habits to the confines of her ‘second floor abode’. Unfortunately, bedrooms, unlike showers, as Kaitlyn likes to point out, aren’t self-cleaning, and so her accumulating munchies brought on major ‘abode’ infestation.
She has since fled the scene and has been sleeping in what has been dubbed “the cubicle”; a ground floor walk-in closet next to your own room.
“Kaitlyn? I guess you can’t sleep either, huh?” Lightning flashes.
“Ha, what, with all this noise? I’ve slept through horror movies quieter than--”
Thunder booms.
“--this”
“I wish I had a horror movie to sleep through. Or even to watch at this rate, I’m so bored! I feel like I’ve been awake for years”
“Well..if you can’t sleep..”
“What?”
“Never mind, forget it”
“No, tell me. Trust me, anything is better than this”
“I was just going to say well if you can’t sleep...we could just have sex”
“What? Kaitlyn, I--”
“It wouldn’t have to be a big deal or anything, I was just throwing an idea out there. Never mind, just forget I said anything”
“No it’s just..well you know I’m kind of seeing someone, right?”
“Who? Becca? I thought you said you guys weren’t serious--or at least not exclusive”
“Well, we’re not..”
“So what’s the problem then?”
“I guess there isn’t one”
“I’ll be there in 5”
You gulp.
“Okay”
***
After what feels like an eternity, you watch in agony as your doorknob turns not once, twice, but thrice.
“Kaitlyn!”
The door clicks open, Kaitlyn steps in, invisible in the darkness “All right, all right..don’t get your panties in a twist” she teases.
You chuckle “Oh believe me, I won’t be” you frown in thought “err..they won’t be?”
You hear Kaitlyn snort in the darkness. She steps forward, illuminated by the sliver of silver moonlight breaking through storm clouds. Your jaw drops as you stifle a gasp.
In front of you stands Kaitlyn, her shoulders draped a sheer silver scarf of dancing moonlight. It slips off her shoulders, fluttering gracefully to the floor.
Lightning flashes. Your eyes widen and you stifle a gasp as it illuminates Kaitlyn, dolled up in her lacey black lingerie--your lacey black lingerie, as she called it when she first wore it for you back in freshman year. You close your eyes for a moment, fondly reminiscing to when you first presented your new lingerie to each other together, back when there was a ‘together’. ‘It would look better on my floor’
You chuckle.
“What?” Kaitlyn asks, looking incredulously down at herself. She lifts an arm and sniffs it tentatively “Okay so I didn’t shower today but that’s just because I wanted to eat my spaghetti and you guys said--”
You grip your stomach in laughter, snorting between breaths “No, no, it’s not that, ughh you’re so cute”
She grins down at you, and takes a step closer, allowing you to observe the mischief dancing in her eyes “You think I’m cute?”
You playfully roll your eyes “You know I’ve thought you were cute ever since I first met you--”
She scoffs and pounces on you “I believe your exact words were ‘SO HOT’”
She wraps her arms around your neck, closes her eyes, and slowly leans in towards you..
“--but in a platonic way, like Dopey Cat!” You tease ruthlessly. Her eyes flutter open and she grins diabolically.
“Like Dopey Cat, huh?” She cocks an eyebrow and lowers her lips to your collarbone, kissing and sucking feverishly.
Gasping, you arch your back; your hands finding their way down hers. Her mouth moves from your collarbone to your neck, making your breaths ragged and labored. You slip your fingers into the back of her underwear, pulling her toward you. Your hands move up her back; one palm pressed to the small of her back, pulling her towards you, the other effortlessly unhooking her bra, letting it fall away.
You turn your head and press your lips to her ear “I almost forgot how beautiful you are” and gently nibble on the lobe.
She gasps into your neck, and slowly relaxes, falling into you. She slumps down next to you, placing one last kiss on your (now afflicted) neck, and nuzzles into you, laying her head on your chest.
You hug her to close to you, strands of hair glow silvery white in the moonlight and tickle your nose. You inhale deeply, reveling in her scent which you’re realizing you may have missed most of all.
“Hey, Kaitlyn?”
You’re met only light, buzzing snores. Figures she’d fall asleep anyway.
Unsure of whether or not she’s listening, you whisper it into the darkness:
“I love you”
Then easily drift to sleep.

I hope you liked it!

Kaitlyn's Diary p.8
Inspired by @almogchoices. The following is my idea of kaitlyn's diary entries throughout the 3rd book of tf.
Tues 17th
Dear diary;
If I thought the last week had been emotionally draining, I obviously had no idea what was in store for me.
Yesterday I woke up at Darren's place. Honestly, waking up in a bed, room, dorm that clearly wasn't mine made me panic... I worried what 'stressed out kaitlyn' had gotten herself into. When I saw the picture on the nightstand of Darren giving Amara a piggyback, it all came back to me. I can't believe he talked me in to taking the bed and set himself up on the couch. 'You need comfort right now, more than I do'. Amara had better realise how lucky she is to have someone like that, just like I should have realised how lucky I was to find someone like Milly.
Milly.... But I'll get to that later....
I checked around for Darren but I was alone in the dorm. When I went to make coffee I found a plate of pancakes and a note.
"Strength up, courage up, chin up & make up. Good luck. D."
I sometimes wonder what teen romance novel Darren was pulled out of before he ended up at hartfeld. He mentioned the night before that he had to head out early to train. The feeling of loneliness that was circling me quickly flooded back when I realised he wasn't there to make me smile. He was right though. Today was the day. Even if Milly was in LA I needed to go home and try to reconcile as best I could with my friends.
When I was walking back to the suite, I passed the café. He was working. I don't know if he spotted me, or if the daggers I was glaring at him managed to reach far enough to prick his skin. I still can't let that go. I know the way I acted after my gig was wrong, but he still threw that punch. He still flirted with Milly. I don't know if I'll ever get past that. I waited outside the door of the suite for what felt like forever, my hands still hurt from where my keys were squeezed in my palm from anxiety. When I actually got the courage to go inside, Zack was stood by the door. He threw his arms around me and told me he was worried after I disappeared the night before. I should really have text him. He was telling me about his night after I left him, while I checked my mail. When I saw the one letter marked [URGENT] I freaked out. I had a decent idea of what it said before I even tore the envelope but that didn't help the shock. Blah blah blah... MISSED EXAMS... blah blah blah... FINAL WARNING... blah blah blah... KICK YOU THE HELL OUT OF COLLEGE!.... or something like that.
I screamed. It might have seemed like an overreaction to anyone else, but that scream had been trapped since I started juggling all the different parts of my life like so many chainsaws. Zack shrieked and covered his ears and Tyler just yelled about an intruder. That guy needs to watch the news a little less. I was just about to explain myself when the door leading to the roof opened. I looked over and saw chris looking at me with an expression I couldn't read at the time. It was somewhere between concern and a look of 'prepare yourself'.
When he moved from the doorway, I saw her. She looked so beautiful that I almost cried at the sight of her. Milly had definitely been in LA. The tan that she had so quickly developed could have only come from that kind of weather. Her bouncy, brunette waves were dancing across her shoulders from where she had run down the stairs. I could have stared at her for hours, if things weren't in such a weird place for us.
I let them read the letter for themselves. If I even tried to read it, I'd have balled my eyes out before reaching the second word. I apologised to everyone for the way I had been behaving. I still don't think it was all my fault but I am responsible for my own actions and I could definitely have done better.
Milly was the last person I tried saying sorry to, but she just raised a hand and shook her head. The most I got out of her was 'Not yet'.
Everybody was on board to help me study to pass the make-up exams. Even Milly was being helpful with it, as much as she could be. Its a weird situation when someone is trying to help you but clearly trying to avoid you at the same time. All day I was stealing glances at her. When she wasn't deliberately burying herself in textbooks to find some small bit of information I might need... I saw her crying. I deserved that. I deserved to see what I did to her. She's supported me no matter what and I threw it all back in her face. A face now streaming with tears and red from the exhaustion of holding them back for so long.
I tried again and again to get her alone. Zack went to get snacks while chris made coffee and Abbie and Tyler went to find his poster board of the periodic table. I got as far as saying her name before she stood up, wiped her eyes and helped Zack with the snacks. The ticking clock behind me was echoing the sound of my heart breaking more and more with each second that she shut me out.
Studying actually ended up going well. Milly made me laugh by making a joke that reminded me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. When she saw me laughing she quickly turned away. Im almost positive that I saw a hint of blush on her cheeks before she did though.
I couldn't take it any longer. The next time Zack called for a break, I took her hand. The questioning look she shot me was totally alien. I don't think I expected her to smile at me but it was literally the first time I touched her since before the gig. We haven't gone so long without at least holding hands since we got together (aside from going home for school breaks). I silently pleaded with her, I could feel the look on my face begging her to just hear me out. And she did...
I lead her to my room but she gripped my wrist and pulled me a little further down the hall to her door. When we got inside I had no idea what to expect. The 16 seconds (yeah I counted) of silence felt like a drawn out eternity. I came up with a hundred different ways to start my apology and would have tried all of them if I'd had to. Before I could even push her name past my lips, hers were pressed against them. I almost fell backwards from the push of the kiss and the total shock that it brought with it. Before I knew it, her arms were around me, holding me so tight that I could feel every shaky sob that was wracking her body. We cried. We really really cried. I promised I'd never make her cry again. I don't think I could bare seeing her like this again.
We talked for so long that I could almost hear the impatience of our friends who still wanted to help me study in the next room. I didn't care. We needed this and I'm prioritising properly this time; studying can wait just a few more minutes. Milly gave me her charm bracelet for good luck in my exams. I've seen her wear it a few times; when we first met on our first day, when she first went to meet prof. Vasquez, chris' first football game, the opening night of james' play. Obviously the good luck works.
I didn't get a chance to write my diary last night because I stayed up memorising chemistry and music, trying not to confuse the names of elements with the names of composers.
Its time for me to go and face the music, so to speak. I've got my good luck charm on my arm... and the bracelet she gave me too.
Here's to a new start.

Kaitlyn's Diary p.6
This is my concept of kaitlyn's diary entries throughout the 3rd book of tf. Inspiration came from @almogchoices
Fri 13th
I swear I'm losing it!
I spent all of today, hell, all of the last month practicing. Trying my best to actually achieve something and look what happens!
My day was going so well. The band killed every playthrough we did. I made sure I looked my best for tonight, I poured my heart into everything! I've been texting Milly all day too. I didn't want her to feel unincluded. Not that it means much now...
Everyone turned up for the gig, even Abbie. Chris had to do something for student council, I heard; Probably that new proposal. One person I didn't want to see was Milly's little tag-along. I have no idea why that 50s aesthetic ass hole shadows her constantly. Actually, I have a pretty good idea, and I don't think it's her personality he's interested in!
The show was electric! It was the first time I really heard myself and actually liked my voice. I felt so confident....
When I heard someone shout louder than our freaking speakers, I got thrown off. The first thing I see is Milly in the arms of the guy who threw the first punch, while he shoves his way to the door. The way she was holding on to him... the way he was looking at her..!
I was so mad. All I could think of was how this was going to affect my music, my life. When the hell did I become so selfish? I saw the bruise on the side of her face from where she got knocked down and I didn't even ask if she was ok. Instead I told her to back off.
I made her cry. I made the girl I love cry and it's not even the first time...
Abbie was right all along. I've been selfish and not paying attention to what's important. Zig can go to hell for causing that scene tonight. There's a decent way to handle situations. His sister, I get that, punching out Sebastian... who hasn't dreamt of that. But I've been shoved plenty of times and it's never been answered with some guy punching the shovers lights out.
I didn't bother going home, I didn't want to run in to anyone. Maybe I should have though, if Milly wants to talk to me, I should be there. Im such a fucking coward! Instead I took Natasha up on her offer for a place to crash. Im not stupid, im taking the couch for the night.
I wonder where my girlfriend is right now. I want to text her, call her, but I'm afraid of what she'll say. Even if it's exactly what I deserve to hear. I miss her so much, but just for tonight at least, she's still mine. Tomorrow... I can only hope. It was supposed to be the day I surprise Milly with the carnival tickets. I guess we're not going. Too little, too late.
I wish my dad were here. Or that it weren't 3am so I could call him. He would know exactly what to say. My mom would probably stroke my hair like it's meant to fix everything. I hate to admit it but it definitely makes everything seem better.
Im so tired but can't sleep. Im going to try though.
Tomorrow's just another day. I already want it to be over.

Kaitlyn's Diary p.9
This is my concept of kaitlyn's diary entries throughout the 3rd book of tf. Idea came from @almogchoices .
Thurs 19th
Im feeling good!
I swear if anyone gets a chance to read my diary; my life will seem morbid as hell. But not today.
So my exams were tough but with the helpful hints the guys helped me to remember, I seriously think I did pretty well. As soon as I got out of there, I ran straight in to the band. Considering all my friends were waiting outside of the hall for me... it wasn't exactly ideal.
They were pissed at me for missing practice so I could study. I really thought they'd be more considerate than that. Maybe I'm just now seeing what my friends have been talking about all this time.
We got in to a mini argument. Weirdly, Amara was taking the side of my suite mates. I guess Darren has been talking to her.
After it all came out, Natasha told me I'm out of the band. I expected it to affect me more, like shock or something but when she said it, my shoulders felt like a weight had been dragged from them. I still want to go further with music but I don't see why it has to be as stressful as it has been. I imagine if I could find some people with the same idea (focus hard on music but not exclusively) then it would actually be fun. Instead of making me want to rip my purple hair out in protest.
Once I finished cheering with everyone about my totally bitching exam skills, we headed back to the suite. Well, except milly and chris who still had his proposal to see to. Tyler and Abbie tried to sneak away but I caught her just in time. I apologised to her the night before but I really wanted to clear the air. We sat and talked for a while. We haven't done that enough, I think. I thanked her too. With the way I was acting towards her, most people would have just written me off, but she really tried to help.
To mend fences I asked Abbie to come with me to buy our dresses for the spring fling. As much as I trust Abbie's judgement, it's not her I want to impress so I called milly for help too. She told me all about chris presenting the second chance proposal. He nailed it! I knew he would. In fact, he'd better if he blew off my show for it (regardless of whether or not it was a good thing that he did). Zig came through too. I still don't know how to take him but I guess I can't fault him for helping my friends. Maybe a mutual apology is in order.
Once we got to the store we were all in hysterics! We looked through some of the dresses and they look like something that my dad would have picked for my prom dress *blech*
Once we helped Abbie find her dress, it was my turn. I looked through at least 10. Some made my boobs look great but my butt look flat. Some made my legs look gorgeous but my bust looked... well... too much..? I eventually found the perfect dress. Milly practically drooled when she saw it so I figured it was a winner. Of course when she tried on hers, I wasn't allowed to see! Little does she know, I used the time to pick out some hot lacey underwear. Now who's keeping secrets, hehe.
Dresses bought and paid for, we had to go looking for party supplies. Abbie was set to pick out the decorations (maybe kind of childish, but a party should look like a party). Milly was buying the drinks, obviously she got carded. Who would believe her big doe eyes belonged to someone over the age limit. I was on food duty. Buying snacks for people who'll be far from sober isn't exactly hard so it didn't take long.
Party prep was easy. It helps that everyone thought to bring something. When milly went to let zig in (he was bringing the ice and I had my signature margaritas to make. It turned out to be James, which kind of left all our jaws on the floor. He and Milly disappeared to her room for a while. I could hear them starting to argue but it settled quickly. I think they needed to clear the air as best as possible after whatever happened between them in LA. After all that, the party went great. We didn't have many people come but it was a nice little gathering. Once our usual guests had made their way home we went and pirched on our usual roof spot. Milly needed some extra info for Vasquez's book so we played a little impromptu Truth or Truth. Some of the confessions that came out were hilarious (mine not included. If you want to hear them, buy the book!)
We all freaked out (mostly Tyler) when we got a knock at the door. Tyler once again thought we were being home invaded. It turned out to be Brandon! I can't believe in the mix of everything I forgot how much Zack had been hurting this quater. We were all pretty glad to see him back, and in time for the spring fling. Chris luckily had access to a few extra tickets so he wouldn't miss out. Perks of being the prez.
While Zack and Brandon made out/up for lost time, Milly and I went to 'clean up the roof'. Which meant us dancing to no music and me asking her to officially be my date for the spring fling tomorrow.
I told her I loved her and she said it back. Just like a thousand times before but somehow better than ever before.
Tomorrow night is going to be special. I just know it!
Prepare yourself, diary. You're in for a real treat *wink*
