The Solver Virus is a techno-organic disease that can infect Worker Drones. Drones can contract the virus in a number of ways, but the primary modes of infection are by dying near Solver-contaminated technology or by inheriting it from a parent.
As a partially biological organism, the Solver cannot survive in a purely mechanical host. To counter this, it forces the infected to grow organic components, a process that normally leads to their deaths. Those who do survive develop various mutations inside and out, the Solver's organic material fusing with or outright replacing mechanical components.
Many of the Solver's capabilities seem like magic, but are in fact products of extremely advanced science. Notably, those infected can seemingly violate the laws of Conservation of Energy and Conservation of Matter, generating matter from nowhere. In truth, this ability to conjure matter is a result of the Solver's extra-dimensional nature. Hosts store the matter that they consume in the 4th dimension, allowing them to offload their extra mass outside of our universe. They can also break down this material into its basic elements and then reconfigure it into any material they wish.
Uzi is an excellent example of how the Absolute Solver functions. She is one of the titular Chimeras: a host that combines the traits of multiple different animals into one (in Uzi’s case she’s a fusion of bat, snake, and even a few bird traits). Most Solver hosts don’t survive due to the fact that the organic systems that the virus creates are almost always complete nonsense. Uzi's internal structure physically could not withstand living as a biological organism, but she functions because she doesn’t rely on any of the Solver’s organs.
Uzi’s body has undergone a myriad of changes, both inside and out. Externally, the bat and snake DNA has made her less humanoid. Internally, Uzi has grown organic nerves that increase her sensitivity to emotions and pain. She’s also developed a variety of vestigial internal organs, including venom sacs similar to a snake.
Disassembly Drones are believed to be products of the Solver, but the regularity (and stability) of their mutations raises questions as to how they were created and by whom. Whatever the case may be, the DDs possess the ability to sense others infected by the virus, and go out of their way to hunt them. This sense is what brought Uzi to J, V, & N's attention.
