Beau is chaotic as fucks she hates people trying to control others if she can help it she puts a stop to it. she doesn’t think things through much though - she doesn’t think like, ideology through much - just rationalises it with bullshit because her priority is just that and it’s gutdeep.
Caleb got blasted not just because he’s way more paranoid about powerful artifacts and everybody kinda liked Cali but because he’s so SNEAKY about it (Nott does not help in this respect). and he tried to NOT be sneaky about it but it comes across as so sneaky. why is that? i think because he tries to exert control over the situation, like he’s some kind of authority and they don’t accept it. he should just lay out the facts and speak for himself: I don’t trust you or your intentions and I WANT to check first magically that you are speaking the truth. WHAT DO YOU THINK AND DO YOU AGREE, PARTY? that would really help him. because of course he was right to have some reservations.
