Some part of Medaka wants to soothe the boy, telling him that he doesn’t need to share this with him if he isn’t ready. Yet, the part of Medaka that wants to be privy to everything there is to know about Nikaidou easily wins his rationale. He needs to know whatever it is still bothering him, in hope they can look for a solution together. He needs to know everything about Nikaidou if he wants to be the one guarding that smile forever. “Actually…after the locker incident, I was about to come back to school again just after 4 days…” Nikaidou draws both his knees and winds his arms around them, making himself look smaller than he already is. “But something else happened the night before I was supposed to go back to school the next day…”

Medaka swallows hard. There’s a slight trepidation thrumming between his ribs.

Medaka learns that the locker incident wasn't the only thing that traumatized Nikaidou.
