Have you ever

Just been so in love with someone that your heart aches a little and also feels like it’s glowing? I’m also tearing up because he just makes me happy.

I was painting my son’s nails (he’s fond of orange) and I wanted to do them evenly, so I did one pinkie, then the other. 

He asked, “Are you going to do my sums next?” (Yes, that’s supposed to be “thumbs”, but I’m gonna subject you to his cuteness if it kills me!)

I told him, “Yes, I can do your thumbs next if you’d like.”

After that, “Are you gonna paint my middle fingers now?” Not the ring or index fingers, ‘cause, believe it or not, it bothers him to have things that are not “just so.”

I giggled and said, “Why, yes, I had planned on it.” And he liked the “orange, not orange” pattern so much, he just had me leave it like that.

He loves his patterns and symmetry and it made me smile. :)
