Got the idea to draw this whole thang out thanks to @echoesintheark after she let me color her fantastic piece of Shadow dapperly sippin on his espresso. I just had to do a piece in my style. I dont know how we ended up in fake screencap territory but this was fun lol.

So I finally listened to "Tears" by Sabrina Carpenter all the way, and the song honestly makes me both sad and upset. Maybe it's because I'm an aroace lesbian but I find it a bit problematic.

First off, most of the things listed are just the bare minimum of a roommate or friend, not even a partner. Your partner should do their share of housework. They should care about your feelings. These actions should not need to be praised. They should be a normal part of a relationship! Your partner shouldn't need a participation trophy.

Secondly, it is perpetuating the rhetoric (which is harmful) that common decency equals sexual gratification. This keeps some men thinking they are owed sex ("nice guys"). While at the same time making women distrust men who are being genuinely kind or considerate because of the "nice guys".

I was really hoping the song would go one of two ways. Either extra realistic responsibilities like rescuing a puppy or being a father or even opening his dream business. Or more of role-playing fantasies like him being a knight or fictional characters.
