Just out of curiosity (only cause ik a friend who did this once for a dragon au of a different series), are you going to make any like words or phrases for the mermonster language? Since you say they'll be able to understand each other at some point lol
I just see them randomly communicating with broken random words from each others language sgjdbs
yeah! i’ve actually been looking into making a whole language for them for the story haha. noodle will actually be the one who mostly starts speaking in broken english since mermonster language is a little hard to recreate because it’s a mixture of words, chirps and trills, although reader tries their best to speak it (and often gets laughed at for it lol)
