Found warming up on the side of a barn. It was 65°F today (18°C), but we are expecting snow here tomorrow night, so this may one of the last bugs I find this year. Time to go back through my files.

It's finally here! Check out the brand-spanking new music video for Meadowhawks' "Multiflora Rose," directed (i.e. produced/shot/lighted/edited/everything else) by yours truly. Had a lot of fun with this one, and I've got a yearning to do more. So NYC-area bands, I am open for business. Also, if any of you New Yawk locals are around September 12, be sure to check these guys out along with Cali bros The Canyon Rays at the Trash Bar in Williamsburg.
I hope you're all recovering from the Memorial Day weekend! Nothing quite says America like drinking out of doors and blasting some good old rock and roll. But now that we're out of the sun and cramped back in our Stockholm Syndrome inducing cubicles, we could all use a little extra taste to get us through to the weekend.
Meadowhawks are here to provide that bit of hair of the dog and introduce themselves with their brand new, aptly-named, single 'Stowaway'! Get ready to have this tune stash itself inside your brain all day!

Newly formed in Upstate New York, Meadowhawks showcase a maturity of musicianship not found in many groups that have been together for years or more. The songwriting displays the band's jazzy discipline that stimulates both an intellectual ear and a foot that's just itching to dance. The instrumentals are reminiscent of the musicality of The Reign of Kindo but the vocals cut through with an edge like Chris Cornell and a purity a la Brandon Boyd (before he went all Jesus Christ Superstar on us). All these factors combine to create a sound that tugs at our 90s nostalgia but is fresh enough to compete with and shine amongst the Bushwick-drunk scene. They certainly provide a refreshing and rocking alternative to the Bon Iver-Fleet Foxes knock-offs that have been drenching indie music lately.
Meadowhawks will be releasing their first EP later this summer, so be sure to check back here for more information as well as a full review of this much anticipated premiere!
