Anyone know how the Thai BL dramas are viewed within the Thai TV industry? Are they seen as lesser quality than other types of dramas?

I have a few thai friends who are either not familiar with it at all or don’t consider the series good. Which reflects a little bit what I found on Twitter:

Well nothing specifically about the genre but i think he said something along the lines of “ill go back to the bl genre when im old and need money” or something like that which is just. YIKES. Also just the fact that he said he won’t be play anymore bl roles, but he’ll still be in 2wish fanmeets feels very exploitative.

ugh yeah as my other anon already cleared it up for me, I hadn’t seen the whole thing earlier and now i’m just……… ew. I just lowkey wanna forget about this and talk about nice things again lol
