i still maintain that Dragon Quest Monsters 2 is one of the best monster raisers ever made simply because you can make almost any monster stupidly powerful by breeding the living shit out of it and because it counterbalanced rarer and harder to obtain monsters with better base stats and stat growth by making them take a fucking eternity to level up and actually gain stats compared to, say, a tiny skeletal piranha or most members of the slime group, so in some ways its almost easier to stick with the lower-rarity monsters
Like in literally any other mons game if your favorite happens to have horribly low base stats or shitty moves you’re basically just fucked. DWM2 is like the ONLY game in the genre that doesn’t do that. The lack of restrictions on moves you can put on them does tend to make the skillsets for monsters a bit samey by the endgame, sure, but it’s just so nice to be able to make a powerful, workable monster out of whatever you want.
I decided to try finishing up Half Life 1 to beat some of my steam backlog and the final boss fight is such a goddamn boring slog i pretty much saved and quit before I even managed to land one hit on his brain
do you ever have that day where you’re in the mood for endless amounts of heroic music
I finally mustered the courage to call the bookstore about working for them again and they said they'd take me back around June so I can at least keep busy with that and save up some money while getting my shit sorted out 🌚

I really wanna feel accomplished and happy and try to think of the positives of me graduating college but I just…can’t. I can’t envision a single positive outcome or future for me after this. Every time I start thinking about it I just get crushed by despair immediately.
I beat fortune summoners! The final boss was ridiculously frustrating but overall I quite liked the game despite some parts being kinda obnoxious Iiiii dunno if I'm up to doing it on a harder difficulty though...I do wanna play it more, but goddamn some parts were crazy hard even on normal
