like i said, its no big deal. i talk with a lot of people online and i know them. ME 1/2. Im so sorry to bother u today. Im on a roll (and i have nobody to talk ME except you soooo sorry?) and like. I think i know what you were saying about Ashley. I dont really like her 'cause of some things she said and it kind of bother me alot

2/2 and ive been talking to her alot cause i wanted to understand why i didnt like her and she just dug her own grave. And then she started calling Shep Skipper and it threw me off so bad. Like. I know its a military term but. Stop it RIGHT THERE PLS

oh gosh no worries at all! i don’t have anyone to talk Mass Effect with either so this is a treat for me. and i thank you for it. everyone’s got an opinion abt each character and i honestly don’t hate ashley. but as i play a femshep all the time i don’t get the chance to know her that well. bc platonic relationships in ME1 don’t really exist. actually, the relationships were less developed in ME1 in my opinion. more focus on story than people. 

but ashley’s personality was just kind of? boring? to me. she was a tough woman, born into a name that was shit on and she suffers through it, even rises above it and she represents a real soldier. to me it was the religion, as i am not religious myself. i also hear they ruined her character for ME3. she ended up becoming a symbol of sex. they gave her a makeover that was the total opposite of what she should have been (just to give her some appeal, because apparently when you have good graphics you have to put the women in really obscene clothes as they fight battles with alien races and reapers that will kill off their entire galaxy. i am so sick of that. kind of obvious what sex is creating these games.) and really watered down her personality into a single stigma. but this could just be the few voices i’ve heard. and again, my opinion. 

you say ‘dug her own grave’. do you mean her opinion of the aliens? i honestly don’t know what would make you say that because i don’t allow her to live. ever. the skipper thing falls right into her personality tho. but i didn’t like it either (probably bc i affiliate skipper with a sea-faring captain, not a space one). she calls femshep skipper too tho so there’s no escaping it. there are a few better characters in ME2 so don’t dwell on it too much. also, ashley isn’t in ME2 so there’s that :))))

i’m assuming you are either nearly finished or did finish. hopefully you liked it! and are moving to number 2 soon!

ME Hm that glitch is interesting? Well i wanted to plat as femshep but as i told u, i got excited. U know? When ill be done with my first playthrough ill start again with femshep to see the difference. And apparantly, im near Virmire. Im terrified.

i’ve never done the glitch myself but i’ve seen it done. pLAY AS FEMSHEP. you have to. i must know what you think. i prefer fem any day myself. annnnd good luck on virmire. make sure you help out Kirrahe as much as you can. he’s a good dude to have around. plus he makes it into another game :))) if you save him that is. 

and good luck picking a friend. hardest part of ME1.

ME :) sorry for the spam but im having feels at the moment. Like im playing as male shep (was so excited that i just mashed all the button when i got my game) and like ive already fell in love with Kaidan and it PAINS ME that I cant romance him :(

ME 2/2 But like... Kaidan isnt subtle. I dunno if BioWare was aware but he keeps keeps glancing at Shep in all the little cutscenes and he's just painfully obvious that i feel so bad for him. :( poor fellow canadian idiot.

OK LEMME JUST SAY that kaidan is the best romance option in the game (in my honest opinion of course). i’ve only ever played as a male once and it was an awful experience for me, simply bc i love femshep the best (and her romance with Kaidan lol). there are a few other romances for FShep in game 2 with a girl, and 3 other male options (2 that are alien) but none that ever satisfy me the way Kaidan’s does.  

i don’t think the writers intended Kaidan to be bi but mann does he ever show it. there is actually a little glitch? if you play through ME1 as a female shepard who romances Kaidan you can import your female shepards profile into ME2 BUT change the gender to a male shepard after the upload. your romance with kaidan continues regardless of the change. if you were looking for a mshepxkaidan that is. also you can romance a few other females in ME2 and i prefer them over Ashley. just sayin :)). there is also a very sweet guy in ME3 that you can only romance MShep and he’s amazing. 

but that’s just me. DONT WORRY ABOUT THE SPAM OKAY. i love talking about Mass Effect. honestly, you couldn’t get me to shut up if you tried. :)))

ME :) No worries. Im not giving up on the game. I love it, already, too much. But your pep talk are the best xD it's just the fact that Im not good at video games but gdi i get sucked in the story and im stuck theee until another game eat my soul. Xo

well I’m not good at video games either, don’t worry. doesn’t stop me from trying (and enjoying) them tho :))) the games are incredibly easy when on casual. if you’re just looking to enjoy the story try casual (if you haven’t already). 

i hope you continue to enjoy! bc i’m honestly thrilled that you are. now i don’t feel so bad abt recommending the game lol

It's MEAnon :) im not really that far in the game but i must say wtf is that Mako bs. xD just a little hello from me after arage quit because of thAT MAKO BS.

oK BUT LISTEN. the Mako is the worst part of ME1 imo (tho there are plenty of ppl who would disagree). i feel the same anon. anytime i replay me1 i coast through anything planet wise. most of the side missions are marked by exclamation marks. just zoom to’em, do’em, and then move on. On one of my playthroughs i found every item on every planet and surveyed every single resource (thanks to masseffectwikia’s planet maps), beat every thresher maw and random geth attack. that was merely one playthrough. the one i consider my best base for each game (trust me. i will never do it again). 

but as a first time game through you should honestly just do the side missions. hell you don’t have to if you don’t want to. its most of the cerberus ones that will carry over (some don’t). 

bUT DONT GIVE UP MY NON. DONT QUIT. the mako is gone after ME1 and you never have to worry about that shit again. ME2 uses a scan option. thats how you find minerals and side missions. no landing on planets and driving a clumsy, stupid vehicle across terrain that is nearly impossible to traverse. 

ME3 doesnt even require you to look on each planet. you just hit a button and a wide area scan happens and it will notify of you anything within range. 

SERIOUSLY. just get thru it. i promise things after ME1 improve, both combat and storywise. the relationships with the characters improve vastly and is basically why i love the games so much. 

i really hope you dont give up yet. i think you might change your mind come ME2. lemme know!
