Once you carry your own water, you will learn the value of every drop. If you do not teach yourself and/or your children/people the value of your/their word, someone else will teach them that it doesn’t mean anything. When I was a child I would get so excited when my parents would tell us we were going to go somewhere or do something special or different. Most of the time it didn’t get to happen. There was no consistency with ‘your word’ while I was ‘growing’ up and I was taught that ‘your word’ didn’t mean anything. Whether it was “I’m picking you up from school today,” or “we are going to Six Flags tomorrow and you can bring a friend.” Fast forward. When I decided to have children, I wouldn’t tell them we were going ‘somewhere’ or doing ‘something’ until I knew it was ‘going’ to be able to happen for the obvious reason. With the same token, when my now husband of 11 years would surprise me with a trip or a gift or tell me we were going somewhere or doing something - - for the first few years I never jumped up and down or was super excited right away bc it took a while for me to process and understand that it was in fact real. *Better late happy and excited than never I guessed. Many people follow their parents’ footsteps. I could have followed what it meant to keep your word, but I didn’t. I taught myself that it was very important - and what it meant to keep your word from the lessons I was handed as a child. Say what you mean, mean what you say and make your words and actions match. It’s that easy. It’s that healthy. It’s that important. Your word IS a big deal. Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire! -unknown And follow though with your word. It’s a beautiful feeling to know that when ‘YOU/I SAY’ we are ‘DOING SOMETHING,’ your/my people are able to trust ‘YOUR/MY WORD’ every. single. time. ❤️ . . #yourwordmeanseverything #yourwordmeansnothing #dowhatyousayyouwilldo #meanwhatisay #yourwordmatters #yourwordsmatter #everysingletime #whatdoesthatsayaboutyou #yourwordmatters #memyselfnmichelle (at Forney, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwCWDTlgOhB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1vc78qx1exy0n
