I was originally inspired to design Rook because of Balan Wonderworld, so here is Rook as a Maestro

#INSEARCHOFTHEPERFECTFLAW

in search of the perfect flaw. when I started shooting for the World Fashion Centre coffee-table-book (a collaboration of fashion matchmaker Isrid van Geuns​ (IS WORKS), designer Tamara Claasen and myself) I also started working for the first time with the @hasselblad #flexbody combined with the @phaseonephoto IQ180. that is not a match made in heaven.. at the most inconvenient times the weirdest faults would appear. massive black areas, highly saturated green wide stripes, purple hues.. it took me some time to figure out how to make the camera stop making these faulted images as soon as it started making them. but I also figured out that my frustration over the useless results sometimes, sometimes, made place for a surge of joy with a photo that actually pleased me.. so I tried to find out how to induce a series of flawed shots. So now when I use this camera set up, I first (and foremost) aim for a 'good' photo for the my client AND aim at a flawed one that would give me somthing extra.. 'in search of the perfect flaw'. In this case it’s mr @martijnbarkhuis, his already suave look, the old and new Jazz combined, triggered me to use the beautiful tilted depth of field of the flexbody and then the flawed colours of this ‘camera error’ just made my day. . The not so flawed version will be released soon with the client’s name and his reason for celebration..!! . For now: have a great day!
