Cowboys 27, Ravens 17 : Wishing Upon a Star - The Ravens start out Hot, hanging w/ the best team in the NFL, but just cannot overcome the injuries & penalties which ultimately do them in. The Ravens Defense forces 2 straight Dallas 3 outs, before scoring on a 6-play 90 yard drive, capped off by an 18 yard Terrance West TD run to go ahead 7-0 in the 1st. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott finds WR Cole Beasley on a 3-yard TD pass to tie the game 7-7 after 1. Justin Tucker remains perfect on the year, booting a 46 yard FG to put the Ravens ahead 10-7 in the 2nd, but Dallas K Dan Bailey returns the favor & connects on a 30 yarder to make it 10-10 before the end of the 1st half. Prescott hits Dez Bryant on a 4-yard TD pass to give the Cowboys a 17-10 lead in the 3rd & then connects w/ Bryant again on a 13 yarder to make it 24-10 in the 4th. The Ravens respond, as Flacco finds Steve Smith, Sr. on a 5 yard TD to make it 24-17. Smith, Sr. joins an elite club in this game, as he becomes just the 14th player in NFL history w/ 1000 career catches, he also hauls in 8 balls for 99 yards in the game. The Cowboys march 72 yards on 13 plays, to eat up 6:26 late in the game. It leads to a Bailey 21 yard FG, but makes it 27-17, a 2 score game & also gives Baltimore the ball back w/ just 1:50 left in the game. The Ravens drop this one in Big D, despite hanging tough until late in the 3rd quarter. The Dallas Offensive line just wore down the #1 Defense in the NFL as the game progressed. The Ravens Offense was not able to sustain enough drives to keep the Defense fresh & it doomed them in. It is the first loss to the Cowboys in team history, as the Ravens were 4-0 against Dallas. Baltimore still sits atop the AFC North by a .5 game over Pittsburgh. The Ravens will now come home to host Cincinnati for a crucial game against another Division opponent.
