It's occurred to me that even though this blog is called Merry Adventures with Cal and Friends we've seen naught hide nor hair of our merry, adventuring hunter pal, Cal, for many a month. This is due mostly because Cal is on Windfola, my first server, and I've since moved to Landroval for it's splendid Roleplay community. But, fear not! I fully intend to recreate Cal on Landroval, but with a slight retcon.
He's going to be a dwarf!
This is because:
A. Dwarves are awesome
B. Traveling through Evendim and Forochel, I really wanted to play a dwarf hunter/trapper character.
C. The M.E.B.S. Kin needs more dwarves, honestly.
D. DWARVES!!!1!!1!!
Anyhow, tune in next week(ish) for the new merry adventures of the Dwarf Trapper Cal, Erowar the Mirkwood Elf's drunken Forochel shenanigans, and the overdramatically narrated tale of Cellorant, Warden of Annuminas!
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, through nearly twelve total hours of frustrating labor and one thousand treasure tokens, Humpenziege the Harvest-Brew Goat!
This announcement also doubles as a nomination for Humpenziege as the M.E.B.S. mascot!
We look so cute w/ our backpacks and all.
A couple pics from the first expedition that the Middle Earth Backpacking Society had! We first travelled to Ost Barandor, where we learned the history of the ruins, thanks to kin leader Belangolien. We then headed off to Svalfang's Hut, where a solitary giant (Svalfang) lives in the Brandywood. We searched the place for any possible treasures that the giant could have been holding while he was gone, and some of us were quite successful in finding valuables. Afterwards, we headed off to the Golden Perch in Stock and enjoyed ourselves some fine food and ale and discussed the great adventure we had.
For our very first expedition, I think it went quite well, and I really had fun travelling with the kin! I can't wait 'til we have our next expedition. :)
