Episode 6 is being worked on in the audio department and it’s freeing me up to work on something else. XD
Act 1 is done and it’s such a big accomplishment for me. I’m happy for a few reasons.
1) Act 1 was my experiment/practice. Yes it was slow paced initially. I admit that. It was also because animation wise, I was still trying to get used to it again. I was changing my style up and trying to improve from the original web series attempt. I needed to get used to it. And I didn’t want to try some of the better stuff, action or dramatic when my animation skills were so rough. It would ruin it for me. So I chose to practice on slower paced stuff to get the “crap out”
2) That said, Act 1 was always a set up arc. It was always meant to show Adam Novus’ life before the the dramatic shift that happens and the main plot begins. It was always sort of like an extended prologue of sorts. And it would lead to the “Inciting Incident”, the moment in a narrative that suddenly kicks the protagonist out of his/her normal routine” Which, in Act 1′s case, is the Alliance Entrance Exam. Started in Episode 4 and ending in Episode 6. Episodes 1-3 were dull and slow. Nothing major happened outside of small foreshadowing for the main plot and conflict. Mentions of the Exam and Adam’s focus. I’m happy it’s done because now I feel like I can start up the main plot, the plot and story that as the creator, have fallen in love with. Act 2 and on is the story I’ve been passionate about for so long. And why it’s my major project. Act 1 prepared me to work on Act 2 and 3. So getting here is tremendous for me. After Episode 6 is out, I’ll be launching a Patreon to hopefully help me financially and to help improve the quality of online content I produce. I’m working on an animation Patreon video and a new Shattered Heaven music video with a track some friends produced. Here’s some of the rough animatics to give an idea of what’s going to be done for Act 2. I’m really having fun right now. Episode 6 is out of my hands and when it’s done with audio, I’ll prep it and finally release. By that time, I’ll have some other animations to put out as well.
The accompanying first episode that was based on the first chapter of the book. You can read the first chapter here, there are some more details in the chapter version. New chapters are released every Friday.
